I agree.. once again the thread gets highjacked by detractors. Not once have I ever gone onto one of their threads and preached to them, or insulted to their beliefs.

The only mention of Protestant is this
“We’re dealing with a huge population of Americans (Catholics and Protestants alike) who are pagan but who think they’re ‘good Christians.”

That part could easily be left out and it would meet the Caucus thread. Especially since the above does not attack or debate actual Protestant doctrine.

This entire thread should be pulled and we should stop trying to discuss issues of Catholic faith on Free Republic. The truth is that we are not welcome here and support is given to our attackers.

I agree. marshmallow can ask for it to be closed. This is stupider than most threads.

Once again you misrepresent Catholic teaching.

from the mod’s link:

Final note: Trolls, troublemakers, disruptors, forum pests, malcontents, RINOs, liberals, stalkers, et al, would continue posting to (harassing) someone after being asked to stop. Conservative FReepers would not.

So, see what that says about people who continue to post to someone, after being asked to stop?

Jesus is Eternal, predestination does not enter into His Incarnation. Certainly double predestination has no place in any debate on His incarnation.

So you are saying that Jesus was not predestined to be born?

What difference does that make? Who cares about predestination? This thread has a completely different topic, which NONE OF THE USUAL SUSPECTS have addressed.

Christ was predestined

1Pe 1:18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, [as] silver and gold, from your vain conversation [received] by tradition from your fathers;

1Pe 1:19 But with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot:

1Pe 1:20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you,

As was His betrayal and execution

Act 2:21 And it shall come to pass, [that] whosoever shall call on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Act 2:22 ¶ Ye men of Israel, hear these words; Jesus of Nazareth, a man approved of God among you by miracles and wonders and signs, which God did by him in the midst of you, as ye yourselves also know:

Act 2:23 Him, being delivered by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, ye have taken, and by wicked hands have crucified and slain:

Ask your first Pope...

Who believed he had been predestined

1Pe 1:1 ¶ Peter, an apostle of Jesus Christ, to the strangers scattered throughout Pontus, Galatia, Cappadocia, Asia, and Bithynia,

1Pe 1:2 Elect according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, through sanctification of the Spirit, unto obedience and sprinkling of the blood of Jesus Christ: Grace unto you, and peace, be multiplied.

Worst of all it distracts from what we should be discussing how to better evangelize the faith so that we bring up generations who are not Catholic in name only.

Post 62 has nothing to do with predestination.

So you are saying that Jesus was not predestined to be born?

In the sense which you are using it? No.

The birth of Jesus was contingent on the "yes" of the Blessed Virgin, freely given. Nobody was railroaded.

The predestination was one of foreknowledge for God sees all things, from all eternity.

This thread has been hijacked by the usual suspects. I suggest that (admitting my guilt here) we do not respond to any of these usual suspects. Let them cackle and peck amongst themselves to see what they can dig up from the dirt.

The subject of the article was evangelizing a genuine Catholic faith. I’ll go first. I think we can best do this by:

Making sure our children know the richness of the faith. No more mamby pamby water downed fill good pablum. Give them the depth of Catholicism. School them in Scripture and in the catechism. Tell them about the heroes of the faith. Make Jesus real to them.

Hard to hear truths may be difficult, but they are still true

Eph 1:1 ¶ Paul, an apostle of Jesus Christ by the will of God, to the saints which are at Ephesus, and to the faithful in Christ Jesus:

Eph 1:2 Grace [be] to you, and peace, from God our Father, and [from] the Lord Jesus Christ.

Eph 1:3 ¶ Blessed [be] the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who hath blessed us with all spiritual blessings in heavenly [places] in Christ:

Eph 1:4 According as he hath chosen us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and without blame before him in love:

Eph 1:5 Having predestinated us unto the adoption of children by Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his will,
