In 1820 a 15 year old boy named Joseph Smith said that the angel Moroni (other versions say God or three angels) appeared to him and told him all churches were wrong, their professors were corrupt, and all their creeds were an abomination. So in 1830 he Founded The Mormon cult. He said the true Gospel had not been preached for 1800 years, and Mormonism is the only true church. Joseph Smith was assassinated in Carthage Illinois in 1844. The teachings of the cult are as follows: The Father, Adam God 5, came from Kolab to earth with one of his wives, Eve, to populate the planet, and of course that means there was no fall. Jesus married Mary, Martha, and Mary Magdalene and had children 8, through whom Joseph Smith is supposed to be a direct descendant. Jesus died to pay for our sin nature, but his blood does nothing to cover our individual sins 9. If you die and go to hell a Mormon descendant of yours can be baptized in your place. Eventually no one will be in hell. This is why the Mormon cult is the best place to go for genealogical research, their religion depends on it. Using alcohol, tobacco, tea, coffee, coke, or Pepsi or not tithing can result in being removed from the cult and thereby loosing Godhood. Satan originated the “you can become Gods” lie in Genesis 3:5. The fact that Joseph Smith and Brigham Young taught these and other occultic doctrines is well documented. The current LDS and RLDS may not hold to all of these teachings. (For instance most Mormon groups no longer hold to the Adam is God doctrine) But why continue to belong to a group that still holds to the name of such false prophets. Famous Mormon quotes: 1. A race of gods, {advanced humanoids from a planet orbiting the mysterious star Kolab} who were once only men but through adherence to Mormon teachings became gods, called a council and decided that Jesus would be the God and savior of planet Earth. Lucifer, spirit brother of Jesus 1, wanting to be God and savior of Earth, lead a rebellion and lost. The followers of Lucifer became demons and therefore denied bodies of flesh and blood for all eternity. Those who remained neutral in the rebellion were cursed to be born with black skin 2. Those who followed Jesus were born with white skin.
This explains the Mormon doctrine of the Pre-existence of souls.

Joseph Smith and Brigham Young both taught originally that Polygamy was good. The scripture says its sin, and so does the book of Mormon, Jacob 2:22
Later the Father, Adam God, came back to earth and had sex with the virgin Mary 6 to give Jesus a physical body {this denys the virgin birth and conception by Holy Spirit 7}
Salvation is exaltation to Godhood. The goal is for the Mormon male to become a God and with one or more Goddesses Populate whole new worlds. Goddesses will be eternally pregnant.
You must pay for your own sins with your own blood.
Salvation is accomplished by works, baptism, and temple marriage. Without a temple marriage a woman can never become a goddess. Therefore the woman must be totally obedient to her husband or he may choose not to resurrect her.

This is the same cult that cannot explain away Joseph Smith, Jr., sitting next to Jesus to determine if we go to heaven, the planet Kolab, and the numerous anachronistic animals, plants, tools, and methods of transportation that the mormons believe the Central American Indians that this so-called prophet said they used.
When confronted, they always change the subject.
To mislead people into damnation is sick, and will only result in their own damnation.

When Adam and Eve lived in the Garden of Eden, the Earth was closely orbiting Kolob, like God's home planet. But when Adam and Eve fell, so did the Earth and it was hurled across the cosmos and placed in orbit around our sun in this planetary system. After the Millenium, the Earth will return to its rightful place near God, orbiting Kolob.

Hmmmmmmm Interesting,, so the current leader claims to have a direct line to God, and his word can negate something an earlier leader said. Is the current prophet considered “infallible” in that regard? (and if they are all infallible,, shouldn’t they all say the same thing? I mean, if im infallible, and my predecessor was too,,,,and we don’t agree,,,its kind of a problem, isn’t it”)

Lest we forget - this is the Cult that Glen Beck is a loyal member of. He talks a big game about being a “Christian” - but if you look at the doctrines, both old and revised - is that the same Jesus that New Testament Christians follow?
And even more damning - someone will eventually post on this thread claiming these are the “same, worn out, dis-proven strawman arguments”.. But will offer only links to mormon websites that still don’t directly answer ANY of the accusations.
Just makes your head spin, doesn’t it.
I for one an grateful that my God is the same yesterday today and will be tomorrow - The Eternal, the Forever, the I Am.

If you peruse the Free Republic religion forums you will notice a pattern. There's an anti-Mormon group of people here that spends a great deal of their time attacking the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. They post regurgitated propaganda on an almost daily basis.
They have a misguided obsession. You can witness many different tactics employed that you might find quite interesting. The straw man argument is a big favorite and is frequently preceded by cherry-picking quotes or other material. After the "quotation" the attacker will misrepresent what has been said or what was meant and then attack their own interpretation.Later they will have the audacity to claim they were "only" quoting our own material.
They will of course insist ad nauseum that they are merely using our sources and are therefore innocent of any deceptive practice. LDS persons have no issue whatsoever having our scriptures or leaders quoted as long as it is presented fairly and accurately. This is rarely (if ever) done.
Another favorite is posting scripture or statements which on their own really present no dilemma. They make something out of nothing while never bringing up a single objection that hasn't been addressed a hundred times before.
You might note a couple of other tactics used to try to antagonize is the use of disrespectful or insulting terms or language and/or pictures. That's a Christlike thing to do right? Yeah I don't think so either. It does speak volumes about them though.
Some of them claim being some sort of special witness to you as being supposedly former Mormons. So someone who is an ex-member of any organization would never have an axe to grind or have reason to try to justify their actions by any means? Perhaps not but perhaps so. The LDS Church gains members from other denominations as well as others faiths all the time. This doesn't make them an expert on anything and you certainly won't hear them attacking their forner Church.
Frequently they cruise the headlines of the day seeking any story that might be twisted into making the Church look bad. Anything will do, just watch the progression of posts following it and see what I mean.
After reading their posts, I invite you to seek the truth about whatever "issue" they seem to be "revealing" or "exposing". I promise that if you do so with honest intent, the "ahah" moments you will have will be many and frequent. You will start to recognize the tactics employed to cleverly twist and attack and will likely chuckle the more you see. In actuality, there's nothing new here. It's all been addressed many times before.
The latest twist in the anti-Mormon propaganda machine is to actually go to the links provided, but then they cherry pick what they want, then quote and straw man attack that. Clever. It almost appears that they are helping you, the seeker of truth out by doing some footwork for you. Not so much. Don't be insulted, look for yourself. It's not the haystack they want you to think.

Now you will likely notice the "you never address or answer our points" posts pop up as usual. All after providing the answers just as you have here.
Sometimes it is claimed that these sites present a needle in a haystack. Far from it. But if you give up before you try you won't know will you? They often state that these sites provide no answer. They just don't want you looking. It is as simple as that.
Will you wear blinders too? Seek truth. Find out for yourself. Want to chat with someone on any topic? A few of these sites provide just that. So do your homework sincere seeker of truth. Listen and read from both "sides". Make up your own mind.
