I dreamed of my father after his death, and dreamed that he spoke to me. He did not look exactly like he did here in his earthly life, but he was unmistakeably himself, young, vigorous, mature, handsome...He had been an engineer during his life, and he indicated he was doing work in heaven, work that he loved. He was totally joyful, in a quiet and humorous way, and he told me that I could not imagine how wonderful it would be. When I saw him, he was in “space,” doing something with a solar system.
Strange, right?
Something he did explain, though: how heavenly beings walk through doors, walls, etc., here on earth. He said that earth is pretty much made out of insubstantial vapor that only seems firm to us, because we are insubstantial also. In the Reality of Eternal Life, everything is solid, REAL, so that when a “spirit” walks through an earthly door, it’s because the “spirit” is REAL and the earthly door is transitory.
Laugh if you like, it was a dream, after all. But it had and has the weight of reality in my soul/mind/heart.

That is a powerful, substantial and profound dream.
When you make contact that way, it is God’s way of revealing to you a hint of what awaits.
The idea that heaven and heavenly bodies are more REAL is described in C.S. Lewis’ “The Great Divorce”. (Unfortunate title, since it refers not to the end of marriage, but to the great chasm/divorce between heaven and hell.) Visitors to heaven find heaven’s grass so REAL that it pokes through the soles of their spirit feet.
It’s a good read, and I’ve found it helped me re-think the idea of hell. Instead of flaming torture it is the ultimate collection of narcissists whose individualism has run amuck. It’s worth reading.
No laughing here, its an interesting dream and makes sense in several ways..Dreams are sometimes true, I have a couple of times had dreams about someone and followed throught with a phone call (casually) and found out my dream was in fact correct..Your father blessed you with a dream
I had a similar experience with my father. I think it is a common occurrence and a lot of the experiences are quite similar.
My father had a stroke and was not able to communicate during the final couple of years of his life. He was a good father and family man and loved kids (he was the father of nine). I had a set of twins six months before he died and I knew he would have thought that was really neat. I never knew if he knew that he was the grandfather of twins because of the state he was in before death.
About two months after his death he appeared to me in a dream and like you said, he was his stronger, younger self. The exact opposite of his condition during his final years.
He very briefly told me three things. He said he was happy where he was and not to worry about him. He said he knew about the twin girls and was very happy about them. And finally before he left he told me he loved me very much.
It was so real it was unbelievable. I’ll never forget it.
