Dear Friends,
About four hours ago, after a intense effort over the last few days, our team/church/presbytery sent our first truck to the disaster area filled with supplies: food, water, fuel, blankets, medicines and other supplies. Wayne, Pastor Mamoru Otake and team member Tom Wilson are driving. Their destination is Iwaki, Fukushima. This city is on the southern edge of the disaster area. Based on the information from our Chiba team, who had just returned as we were loading, we were able to prioritize certain types of items, and feel so confident that we sent exactly what will help them the most at this point. Its been a blessing to share information and resources with one another, and have a more effective operation because of it.
Our team has managed to find rental trucks through the end of March. So as soon as that truck pulled out, we began turning our minds toward the next trip, which hopefully can take place next Monday. Our bodies are not as cooperativewe are very tired. I really wish I could put my thoughts together more effectively. There is much more to tell you; but for now I need to rest.
I cant express how much we covet your prayers right now. Please forgive me for the lack of information in this letterwe just need you to pray, so I wanted to get this out, regardless of how inadequate it may be.
Your sister in Christ,
Amy Newsome

Update from Samaritan's Purse
GRPL Ping
Thanks Gamecock! Are these people with Samaritan’s Purse?
No. They are with Mission To the World, which is the foreign mission agency of the Presbyterian Church in America. It is a conservative denomination believing in the plenary, infallible inspiration of Scripture, the Virgin Birth, the deity of Christ, the indwelling of the Holy Spirit and the necessity of being born again. Of course, the belief is set forth in the Holy Scriptures, but it is encapsulated in the Apostle’s Creed, the Westminster Confession of Faith and the Larger and Shorter Catechisms.
It is NOT at all associated with the apostate Presbyterian Church USA.
God bless them and their mission- it’s going to be a very tough scene there.
I see a lot of defeatism reports.
1st. There is no gas. WHAT? None? I see lots of gasoline all over the place! All those damaged cars have gas tanks in them dont they? A ice pick or sharp screw driver and a container and you can have enough gas to drive at least a few vehicles that can navigate the roads.
2nd. There is no food. OK. But I would bet that there is lots of canned goods that are floating about that can be salvaged for survival rations.
3rd. There is no water. There isnt? You mean to tell me that there are no streams in the hills behind those villages that couldnt be used for water if they boiled it or filtered it?
4th. They are cold. They cant rummage through that wreckage for scrap wood for fire? Give me two good people and I can hook up a fireplace in a shelter in a second.
5th. No medicine. OK, then there were no drug stores around either? Granted, you wouldnt find the kind of meds for the drastically injured, but you should be able to rummage for stuff to at least help. Things like bottles of pain killers like Advil etc have got to be laying around. And of the packages of bandages, there has to be at least some that are good enough for use.
What they need is team leaders and a lot of good ol boys to show them how to survive until help arrives. They are finding that waiting isnt an option. I would get in Three men teams of special forces people into each remote place to set up survival camps and help these people survive. All these people need is to know how.
Here's an update I found on the Aquila Report.

This one is an OPC update also found on The Aquila Report
In short, there is food. clothing, shelter, fuel and such all over the place. What they need is organization...someone to lead.
Which is what these people are doing.
Thanks for the ping.
What’s your assessment about the Potassium iodide.
Seems to me it’s not needed and not likely to be needed but what do I know.
What are the hazards beyond allergy to iodine, shellfish etc?
