Victoria Jackson: Homosexuality and the cross
WorldNetDaily ^ | March 25, 2011 | Victoria Jackson

I woke up Monday morning in my Atlanta hotel room and sighed, another boring airport day. Good thing I have Doug Gile's new book, "Raising Righteous and Rowdy Girls," and Bob Barr's "The Meaning of Is" to carry me home. I decided not to get the TSA naked radiation scan but the molestation pat down.

I was in Atlanta for the premiere of "A Clip in Time," a short film about a paperclip. It turned out fantastic, thanks to brilliant writer Alan Tregoning and producers Wes and Amanda Llewellyn and Jeff Rose. It will be screening April 1 at the 168 Film Festival in Burbank.

My cell rang. "Inside Edition" wanted me. I looked around the room. Do I have any scandals?! And, how'd they get my number?! They said it was about my WorldNetDaily column on Muslims. Then, they called right back and said, no, it's about the gay "Glee" kiss I briefly mentioned in my Muslim column. Oh boy.

It's not about me. It's not about homosexuality. It's about the cross. "The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God," 1 Corinthians 1:18.

At the TV studio, on air, I spoke for 30 minutes and mentioned several Bible verses including Romans 1:24-32, which puts homosexuality in a list of sins including gossip. I said Romans 2 tells us not to "judge" because we are all sinners. I quoted Romans 3:23, "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God," and Ephesians 2:8-9: "For by grace are you saved through faith and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God, not of works, lest any man should boast."

IMHO, she is missing the boat.

Sure, homosexuality is sinful and not the path to inherit the Kingdom of God, but how that context is being communicated makes all the difference in witnessing the Gospel.

Believers can be as anti-Christian as the most heinous unbeliever, when they are out of fellowship with God and attempt to substitute worldly goals for their approbation.

The focus of our thinking is to be through faith in Christ.

When that happens, there is still enormous sanctification processes ongoing within every believer, and along different agendas, albeit all through faith in Christ.

The homosexual is no different than any believer before that believer came to Christ. Furthermore, there may be believers who lapse into a carnal nature, falling out of fellowship, because their old sin nature entices them via their past thought patterns into slipping out of fellowship with God.

There is no temptation too great than that which may be resisted, always through faith in Christ. The consequences of turning to Christ and letting God perform His continuing work in us, is a continual signification of the believer, slowly healing and improving in our spiritual, soulish, and even physical processes, to position ourselves where God has planned for us to occupy from eternity past.

The real joy in following along God’s Plan for us is to live the fullest life possible, by the unique way He has made us and qualify even moreso for eternal rewards, which have been predestined for us in heaven.

Do you pay for t.v. programming, or do you use the old fashioned broadcast signal?

If you pay, you are subsidizing smut, plain and simple, even if you do only choose to watch the rare good programming. You still have to wade through the pornographic commercials, even if you have a "free" broadcast reception system.

If you have children in the house, you have no business piping the sewage into your home, in my opinion.

I almost answered your question on whether or not it’s paid programming, until it struck me ...

You don’t foot the bills around here.

Maybe you’re not intentionally doing it, but you come across as hostile and presumptuous. Thanks, but you can keep your opinion.

Regards,

It’s amazing how many otherwise conservative people have been zombieized by television - they’ll defend it until their last breath. It’s tragic and extremely scary.

Nah. What’s REALLY scary is that you have the Internet sewage piped into your home but you don’t see that as a problem. Who are you kidding?

You have no idea what you are talking about.

Do you have kids? Do you have subscription t.v. or a broadcast antenna? Is virtually every channel except for a select few locked out?

If you answered “yes” to the first two and “no” to the third, you have a serious problem.

Ah yeah, because if I do not totally agree with you, I am part of the problem...

And to answer your question, Yes I would let my kids walk thru that minefiled - because as a parent, I would know exactly where those three mines are. That is part of being a good parent - knowing where the danger lies, and avoiding it without being paranoid.

Thanks for proving my point.

We are lost with this kind of thinking. The Left is not the problem as long as conservatives keep drinking from this trough of filth.
