Mormon/LDS Youth iPhone App & Expanded Website
More Good Foundation ^ | March 29, 2011 | Staff

Mormon youth, 12-18-year olds, are at least as mobile as any Milennial, and as members of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, they now have access to a new iPhone app, LDS Youth, that allows them to view video messages from peers worldwide, access stories, thoughts, articles, and inspirational messages through their portable devices. With each amenity, is the share-feature, enabling youth to spread encouragement by phone among their peers and families.

This app comes in conjunction with a newly updated LDS/Mormon website, Youth.lds.org (“Mormon” is a nickname for members of the Savior’s restored Church named in full above, that comes from a prophet by that name who lived anciently on this continent, abridging scriptures we are now privileged to have in our hands today).

Friends and youth of all faiths are welcome to visit the site, which contains statements of values, information regarding seminary instruction for youth (the objective of seminary, as mentioned on the site, is to help youth understand and rely on the teachings and Atonement of Jesus Christ, qualify for the blessings of the temple, and prepare themselves, their families, and others for eternal life with their Father in Heaven. All youth in the world can benefit from similar instruction. Please ask about this if you are interested and of another faith), pamphlets that guide youth in their daily interactions (dating, media consumption, friendships, commitments, etc.), and more.

There are venues for downloading free music, sharing faith witnesses through video or listening to others from around the world, places to ask an apostle of the Lord Jesus Christ questions, and to learn doctrine, memorize scriptures and otherwise fortify oneself to walk in the world but not be of it.

We encourage all Mormon youth and friends of all faiths with youth 12-18 to visit the resources on this site and feel the Spirit of materials generated to address the specific needs of this growing generation whom we love and whom the Prophet, Thomas S. Monson, the 12 apostles who lead with him, and other leaders and parents also love greatly.

There’s no “debate” on anti-Mormon threads...

Of COURSE there isn't!

MORMONs cannot DEFEND their chosen religion against the Truth of Christianity!

Most don't even try...

"Here's some really, REALLY good links. Find out for yourself." is the maximun EFFORT put out.

I’m a believer in the G-d of the Jews, not the god of the Christians...

I think that most Jews would disagree with this statement.

I sure do.

You seem to 'worship' a mere SUBSET of the JEWISH god.

One wonders if there is a new sect devoted to "showing one's (questionable) superiority in five easy steps."

Would you accept JUMPS instead??

The Biblical illiteracy in this country is shocking - well, not really - since I've been around quite a few who “teach”.

As one who tries to 'teach'; I find it harder to UNlearn a person of stuff that AIN'T in the bible, than to teach them what is!

DISCOVER THE TRUTH FOR YOURSELVES INSTEAD OF THROUGH THE FILTERS OF HATRED

READ for yourself what SPEAKERS of HATRED have said about CHRISTIANity and it's believers...

Joseph Smith continues: "for the teachers of religion of the different sects understood the same passages of scripture so differently as to destroy all confidence in settling the question by an appeal to the Bible" (from 1:12). "What is it that inspires professors of Christianity generally with a hope of salvation? It is that smooth, sophisticated influence of the devil, by which he deceives the whole world" (, p.270).

Questions put to Joseph Smith: "'Do you believe the Bible?' [Smith:]'If we do, we are the only people under heaven that does, for there are none of the religious sects of the day that do'. When asked 'Will everybody be damned, but Mormons'? [Smith replied] 'Yes, and a great portion of them, unless they repent, and work righteousness." (, p. 119).

Brigham Young stated this repeatedly: "When the light came to me I saw that all the so-called Christian world was grovelling in darkness" ( 5:73); "The Christian world, so-called, are heathens as to the knowledge of the salvation of God" ( 8:171); "With a regard to true theology, a more ignorant people never lived than the present so-called Christian world" ( 8:199); "And who is there that acknowledges [God's] hand? ...You may wander east, west, north, and south, and you cannot find it in any church or government on the earth, except the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints" (, vol. 6, p.24); "Should you ask why we differ from other Christians, as they are called, it is simply because they are not Christians as the New Testament defines Christianity" ( 10:230).

Orson Pratt proclaimed: "Both Catholics and Protestants are nothing less than the 'whore of Babylon' whom the Lord denounces by the mouth of John the Revelator as having corrupted all the earth by their fornications and wickedness. Any person who shall be so corrupt as to receive a holy ordinance of the Gospel from the ministers of any of these apostate churches will be sent down to hell with them, unless they repent" (, p. 255).

Pratt also said: "This great apostasy commenced about the close of the first century of the Christian era, and it has been waxing worse and worse from then until now" (, vol.18, p.44) and: "But as there has been no Christian Church on the earth for a great many centuries past, until the present century, the people have lost sight of the pattern that God has given according to which the Christian Church should be established, and they have denominated a great variety of people Christian Churches, because they profess to be ...But there has been a long apostasy, during which the nations have been cursed with apostate churches in great abundance" (, 18:172).

President John Taylor stated: "Christianity...is a perfect pack of nonsense...the devil could not invent a better engine to spread his work than the Christianity of the nineteenth century." (, vol. 6, p.167); "Where shall we look for the true order or authority of God? It cannot be found in any nation of Christendom." (, 10:127).
James Talmage said: "A self-suggesting interpretation of history indicates that there has been a great departure from the way of salvation as laid down by the Savior, a universal apostasy from the Church of Christ". (, p.182).

President Joseph Fielding Smith said: "Doctrines were corrupted, authority lost, and a false order of religion took the place of the gospel of Jesus Christ, just as it had been the case in former dispensations, and the people were left in spiritual darkness." (, p.266). "For hundreds of years the world was wrapped in a veil of spiritual darkness, until there was not one fundamental truth belonging to the place of salvation ...Joseph Smith declared that in the year 1820 the Lord revealed to him that all the 'Christian' churches were in error, teaching for commandments the doctrines of men" (, vol. 3, p.282).

More recent statements by apostle Bruce McConkie are also very clear: "Apostasy was universal...And this darkness still prevails except among those who have come to a knowledge of the restored gospel" (, vol 3, p.265); "Thus the signs of the times include the prevailing apostate darkness in the sects of Christendom and in the religious world in general" (The Millennial Messiah, p.403); "a perverted Christianity holds sway among the so-called Christians of apostate Christendom" (, p.132); "virtually all the millions of apostate Christendom have abased themselves before the mythical throne of a mythical Christ whom they vainly suppose to be a spirit essence who is incorporeal uncreated, immaterial and three-in-one with the Father and Holy Spirit" (, p.269); "Gnosticism is one of the great pagan philosophies which antedated Christ and the Christian Era and which was later commingled with pure Christianity to form the apostate religion that has prevailed in the world since the early days of that era." (, p.316).

President George Q. Cannon said: "After the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints was organized, there were only two churches upon the earth. They were known respectively as the Church of the Lamb of God and Babylon. The various organizations which are called churches throughout Christendom, though differing in their creeds and organizations, have one common origin. They all belong to Babylon" (Gospel Truth, p.324).

President Wilford Woodruff stated: "the Gospel of modern Christendom shuts up the Lord, and stops all communication with Him. I want nothing to do with such a Gospel, I would rather prefer the Gospel of the dark ages, so called" (, vol. 2, p.196).

lol Still trying to make people think there’s a wild goose chase involved.

Responding with sources to the truth, easily found for any sincere seeker is perfect in my opinion. It’s many ready answers ready and waiting and helps weed out the fight-picking, blinder wearing anti-Mormons from the true seekers of truth.

Methinks thou doth protest too much.

Have a great night!

Actually I think this is a smart move on the part of SLC. As we have observered here on FR, LDS apologist are all over the place on trying to keep the Mormon story straight when they freelance.

As we have now seen here with 3 LDS posters, the new tactic is to run folks into the gauntlet of Mormon doctrine and emotions, away from focused discussions of the uncomfortable facts.

Sad that they can't trust their own to toe the line, but then again when the line goes all over the place from TPB it is neigh on impossible for the masses to mount any form of viable defense at a personal level.

That it is indefensible in light of ever mounting evidence (or lack there off)and a growing number of Ex-Mos and others hitting the net spreading the word doesn't help either.

This new “look over here in our controlled area” tactic maybe the key to you guys catching those last few who either have not paid attention or are in a vulnerable place, something the LDS are always willing to leap on.

Of course how long such a transparent and weak tactic can keep going is any ones guess. I do know just from the increase in Non LDS participation in these threads, the folks with honest question who are attacked as “anti’s” with in a couple of post when they don't play along with you guys, that the tactic is doing wonders for exposing the empty hand of the LDS here.

For that I thank you.

Now I wait for your standard deluded retort...

I at least TRY to give answers to any questions that I can.

Sad that they can't trust their own to toe the line...

It is NOT the Members fault; as HEADQUARTERS have failed to show where the line IS!!!

When 'leaders' and 'prophets' and 'apostles' are all over the place with their 'answers': what's a poor pew warmer to DO???

Elsie; you are the WORST of all!

Since I am FORCED to use your computer when you ain't looking; I can only get short replies to the masses who are hungry for the truth.

People, Elsie has insulted our Blessed Leaders, Prophets and Apostles by making them look all flip-floppy on our theology; but let ME assure you; they are NOT!

You see, it is GOD that reveals His wishes through them.

--MormonDupe(You'll have to ask GOD why He is constantly changing on the subject of our revealed theology.)

“You see, it is GOD that reveals His wishes through them.”

The scariest part of it all. A god with multiple personality disorder or an inability to focus or make decisions. Not to mention an uncanny ability to change his mind at the same time the law or society is about to call his people on their fun..

lol is that your new twist on what is happening here? It’s always entertaining seeing what is next in the bag of tricks of the LDS Church attackers.

bahaha and the show goes on. Watching the stage where the anti’s put on their propaganda show is still especially entertaining when you understand what is really going on. It’s similar to watching Nazi Germany skits portraying the Jews as something they certainly were not.
