" And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood; And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind. And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places. (Revelation 6:11-17) "

Could it be Wormwood hitting the Earth ? a great comet ? Asteroid ?

Good article. Thank you. I believe that the sixth seal is the great earthquake that will happen during the 7 year tribulation and that it is but one of 21 of God's wrathful judgments of His indignation. The judgments in the Book of Revelation are the 7 seal judgments, then the 7 trumpet judgments and finally the 7 vial judgments to make a reckoning with mankind and to bring them to the knowledge of the great King and Saviour Jesus Christ our Lord and Saviour. He will return on the appointed day set by God the Father and will come in great power with His heavenly angels and the raptured saints on the last day of the tribulation to destroy the anti christ and the false prophet and all the armies of the earth gathered together on the hills of Israel. The Lord Jesus will destroy them and their leaders and cast the anti christ and his false prophet into the Lake of fire, they will be the first human souls cast therein. Then the King of the whole earth will touch down on the mount of olives where He went up and enter the east gate of Jerusalem as King of kings and Lord of lords and begin His 1000 year rule as King of the whole earth.
Search the Scriptures to find the truth, He is the way the truth and the life and no man comes to the Father but by Jesus Christ our Lord.

OK, how weird is it that this thread follows directly after the Mapleton tornado?

We live in a topsy-turvy world of inverse values, because of the over all rejection of God. Now modern man has no problem with abortion of human beings in the womb, for man is now seen as his own creator and definer of values.

Thanks for the article; I appreciate your thoughts.

Mankind has always provided the world with a topsy-turvy world of inverse values. Since antiquity we have had a problem with acknowledging our omniscient, omnipotent and all graceful creator. The Jews mocked God in the dessert and no single person crucified Christ. Even during the "reign" of Christendom, the church itself found ways to create barriers between mankind and Christ.

Yet, in all this, God still loves us. He found ways to use our sinfulness to ensure the Spirit carried out God's Will. It is for this reason that I am optimistic in spite of what I see and read every day.

I do not believe Revelation is written with strict chronology in mind, instead it seems that we are shown the events leading up to and including the full Revelation of Jesus Christ to the unbelieving and God rejecting world, from various vantage points.

Interesting admission.
