Mormon Church Denies Prior Knowledge of Susan Brock Affair With Teen Boy, Which is a Lie
Phoenix New Times ^ | April 18, 2011 | James King

The Mormon Church claims it never knew one of its members, 49-year-old Susan Brock, the somewhat-estranged wife of Maricopa County Supervisor Fulton Brock, was sexually abusing a teenage boy before her arrest...

This, according to court documents obtained by New Times, is a lie.

The church issued the following statement...

"Any allegation that Church leaders knew of abuse but did nothing is inaccurate and offensive...When abuse does occur we work to see that it is reported to the authorities."

SNIP

According to court docs, the relationship was uncovered by the victim's girlfriend, who discovered sex-themed text messages...on the boy's phone. The girl told her parents, who contacted Susan Brock, as well as her county supervisor husband, to tell them they knew of the abuse.

Rather than call the police, Fulton Brock called his bishop at the Mormon Church, to whom Susan Brock admitted having...sex...with the boy.

When the boy's parents were told...rather than immediately call police, they also contacted their bishop in the Mormon Church.

As the father of the victim...told police, after meeting with Church leaders, he was "under the impression" cops would be called. But they weren't -- as the boy's father was waiting for Church leaders to alert authorities...he figured he'd just call them on his own.

But that wasn't the first time the Mormon Church learned of suspicions that Brock was abusing the boy.

...about a year before Susan Brock's arrest, the Brocks and the victim's parents met with leaders in the Mormon Church. The topic of conversation: suspicions that Susan Brock was having sex with the teenage victim.

SNIP

Nobody called police...not Fulton Brock, not the boy's parents, and not the Mormon Church.

The abuse...continued for a year before police were notified -- and when police were notified, it wasn't by Mormon Church officials...

“...Scriptures has a name for your kind!”

Gloriously, underservedly, true!

Son
Heir
Part of the Bride of Christ
Adopted
Sealed
Glorified
Saved by Grace and apart from any work of my own
Elected

... and so many more wonderful names and descriptions.

Won’t you come join the Body and Bride of Christ, Resty? It’s free, but it wasn’t cheap.
All you have to give up is pride and your own worthiness.

As Easter approaches, it is worth remembering that “Christ died for the UNGODLY!”, and not the “worthy”.

blessings to you Resty,

It is a shame that mormons do not strive to live up to those things the Lord encourages....but lean instead on the works of men and fake ceremonies in an attempt to gain salvation....even THEN attempting to dictate to God who should be seated at His Right Hand.

Does any Christian believe that God will be sitting in judgment on them with His little temple recommend quesion list, ticking off the items one by one...especially #15 where the respondent is expected to be the judge of himself?

Temple Recommend Questions:

1 Do you have faith in and a testimony of God the Eternal Father, His Son Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost?

2 Do you have a testimony of the Atonement of Christ and of His role as Savior and Redeemer?

3 Do you have a testimony of the restoration of the gospel in these the latter days?

4 Do you sustain the President of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as the Prophet, Seer, and Revelator and as the only person on the earth who possesses and is authorized to exercise all priesthood keys? Do you sustain members of the First Presidency and the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles as prophets, seers, and revelators? Do you sustain the other General Authorities and local authorities of the Church?

5 Do you live the law of chastity?

6 Is there anything in your conduct relating to members of your family that is not in harmony with the teachings of the Church?

7 Do you support, affiliate with, or agree with any group or individual whose teachings or practices are contrary to or oppose those accepted by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints?

8 Do you strive to keep the covenants you have made, to attend your sacrament and other meetings, and to keep your life in harmony with the laws and commandments of the gospel?

9 Are you honest in your dealings with your fellowmen?

10 Are you a full-tithe payer?

11 Do your keep the Word of Wisdom?

12 Do you have financial or other oblgations to a former spouse or children? If yes, are you current in meeting those obligations?

13 If you have previously received your temple endowment:

Do you keep the covenants that you made in the temple?

Do you wear the garment both night and day as instructed in the endowment and in accordance with the covenant you made in the temple?

14 Have there been any sins or misdeeds in your life that should have been resolved with priesthood authorities but
have not been?

15 Do you consider yourself worthy to enter the Lord's house and participate in temple ordinances

Remember, mormons cannot take part in the "covenants" that supposedly allow them to be saved unless they pass this "test".

It REALLY is a shame that mormons do not strive to live up to those things the Lord encourages....

Ah, finally something we can agree on.

and it is equally a shame when anti-Christians pervert the precious truths of God - His nature and His Gospel of Grace - and turn them into a system of created beings and ungodly works.

May this Easter be the time God the Father opens your eyes to the Gospel of Grace - and completely devoid of godless works. May you rejoice in the wonder of His love. May you count yourself ungodly, to be one He died for. May you set aside human pride, in order to accept Grace.

blessings to you this Easter,

Let's not be confusing what the LAW says to the CHURCH with what a Parent WOULD/SHOULD do.

does the law say that a parent needs to wait for his church to make the call? is that what you're saying? if you need your church to step in on your child's behalf... well... i guess that's you're business...

is that what you're saying?

You know it isn't.

Quit trying to make this ABOUT the parent's responsibility.

The LDS religious Organization is on trial in this thread.

Did it or did it NOT follow the LAW?
