The word on the street is simple church sucks.
Plastered throughout one city in northern California are signs stating the same message, stirring some controversy among the local residents.
But its all part of the plan, according to Stu Streeter, the lead pastor of Disciples Church in Folsom.
Using the slogan as a way to attract those who have stopped attending church, Streeter, along with Adam Adams, his connection ministry director, have teamed up to ironically bring people back into the church, reported El Dorado Hills Telegraph.

I think the real “suck train” is driven by the “lead pastor”
IMO, this is why some churches suck. Really just therapy sessions with an "amen" stapled at the end. Like my pastor sez, "Sermonettes create christianettes."
No kidding. If churches would just preach the gospel, teach the scriptures, teach the tenets of our faith and
dump all the theatrics, programs, specials, dinners, functions, parties, drama productions, clubs, and on and on and just stick with the basics! This is why you find an overwhelming majority of “Christians” that don’t know squat about the bible or the gospel and couldn’t quote any scripture for memory.....and they are weak, they can’t defend the faith... ok. off my soapbox now.
The church he is referring to is a building. “We” are the real church, as in the body of Christ.
I'm so stealin' that.
Amen to everything you said!
I don’t see a problem in the world with Church sponsored dinners or functions. Our Catholic Church has several every year. Our parish is rather large. I think they are a great way to build a “community” amongst the members. Instead of just a “congregation” we become more of a “family”, albeit rather a large one. I have made some very good friends through these functions that I may never have if my only interaction with them was during a hour a week Mass.
