His left eye is the eye of judgemend that brings fear to the angels,and reminds of the judgement day,that is to come,while his right eye is the eye of mercy and his love for man,The icon is in the monastery of Sinai.The icon was a gift to the monastery from Emperor Justinian.

I love the Eastern churches and the contributions to Christianity. We Protestants could learn some things from them.
Just watched again, after the Easter Sunday Gospel was read, a group of Byzantine Rite choir sing the rite’s version of the Easter proclamation, based also on Psalm 118. Just so very beautiful!
I love the chanting from the Eastern Rite Churches and in a special way, during Easter Season.
