Full title: Priest stole $1m from church for male escorts.... and designer clothes… but won't have to pay it back and could serve again

A Catholic priest who stole more than $1 million in church money and spent it on male escorts, Armani clothes and nights out at gay bars has been jailed for three years.

But the priest from Connecticut could be allowed to continue serving as a priest after he has served his sentence, according to his former church.

Father Kevin Gray, 65, the former pastor of the Sacred Heart Parish, Waterbury, was sentenced to prison on Wednesday. He had entered a plea of no contest.

He had used the money to pay for a lavish lifestyle, which included owning a secret flat in New York, which he shared with a man who he paid to go to Harvard University.

Prosecutors said Gray will not have to pay back the money because the Diocese of Hartford did not ask for restitution.

If this man doesn’t repent and leave his office, it’d be better for him if he had never been born. I pity this fool and am ashamed of a body of (cough) believers that wouldn’t excercise discipline on this reprobate.

I’m starting to wonder whether the gay movement purposefully infiltrated the church in order to destroy it from within.

Without a doubt.

“I’m starting to wonder whether the gay movement purposefully infiltrated the church in order to destroy it from within.”

Yes. That’s what the recent history from the sixties tell us. Hillary - her Methodist Pastor - Alinskey. It happened to ALL Churches, in fact, ALL institutions. To keep posting stuff like this is not taking the log out of their own eye but also defaming the Catholic Church which only aids and abets the Marxist/Islamist movement. I could post all day about Protestant Pastors but for what reason? They’re already caught and will be punished which is the more important.

It would explain a lot...gay priests feel it is their civic duty to molest children in order to give the church establishment they despise a bad name. Whenever such stories come out the blame should be focused on homosexuality not the church!

Two former Communists, Bella Dodd and Manning Johnson, spoke on Communist infiltration of the Catholic Church. Dodd, an important Communist party lawyer, teacher and activist, converted to Catholicism in April 1952 under the tutelage of Bishop Fulton J. Sheen. Stating that the Communist infiltration was so extensive that in the future "you will not recognize the Catholic Church," Dodd also asserted that:

"In the 1930's, we put eleven hundred men into the priesthood in order to destroy the Church from within."

"Right now they are in the highest places, and they are working to bring about change in order that the Catholic Church will no longer be effective against Communism."

Manning Johnson, a former Communist Party official and author of "Color, Communism and Common Sense" testified in 1953 to the House un-American Activities Committee regarding the infiltration of the Catholic Church:

"Once the tactic of infiltration of religious organizations was set by the Kremlin ... the Communists discovered that the destruction of religion could proceed much faster through infiltration of the (Catholic) Church by Communists operating within the Church itself. The Communist leadership in the United States realized that the infiltration tactic in this country would have to adapt itself to American conditions (Europe also had its cells) and the religious make-up peculiar to this country. In the earliest stages it was determined that with only small forces available to them, it would be necessary to concentrate Communist agents in the seminaries. The practical conclusion drawn by the Red leaders was that these institutions would make it possible for a small Communist minority to influence the ideology of future clergymen in the paths conducive to Communist purposes This policy of infiltrating seminaries was successful beyond even our communist expectations."

As a radio talk show host and avid listener to talk radio in Boston, I've listened intently to comments by Catholics as the crisis has unfolded. Much has been said regarding the left dominance of the seminaries and a prevalence of the ideas of "liberation theology" which is a biblically contradictory Trojan horse within the Catholic gates. Establishment organs, such as the Boston Globe, continue to wring their hands over the homosexual activities of priests while supporting a homosexual agenda everywhere else. Hopefully, the Catholic flock will wake up and sweep the corruption out of their church in the same way that their founder, Jesus of Nazareth, swept the moneychangers out of the Temple.

“Unlike so many Catholic Priests, this guy has been charged. Not moved to another diocese to rape other boys and girls.”

I’d advise your little leftie self to read each story in the following Protestant site before making a total fool out of yourself...

You don’t act like a Protestant or a Catholic.

Who are you?

Who are your followers?

You are pathetic.

You try and justify what a Preist did by posting about a Baptist doing it also?

What’s next? Finding a Jewish Rabbi?

Don’t answer that. I know your type - and the real motivation for playing these “they do it too!” games.

It’s still pathetic.

WHAT? At the very least they should do whatever is legally possible to take everything he owns. How will the Diocese justify asking their parishioners to give when they do not take action against theft?

Former pastor sentenced for sexually assaulting parishioner

James Michael Holthus to serve one year in jail

By Dan Nienaber The Mankato Free Press Tue Nov 14, 2006, 12:03 AM CST

MANKATO — A controversial court case that has divided two churches came to an end Monday when a former Lutheran pastor was sentenced for sexually assaulting a parishioner.

“My hope is, now that this matter is taken care of, the healing can begin,” Blue Earth County District Court Judge Kurt Johnson said. “I hope people can move on because that’s what needs to be done.”

Then he placed James Michael Holthus, 52, on probation for up to 10 years with the condition Holthus serve one year in jail, pay a $6,000 fine, pay $6,219 in restitution, complete sex offender treatment and register as a predatory offender. Any money Holthus spends on treatment can be deducted from his fine.

A 21-month prison sentence also was imposed and stayed, meaning Holthus could be sent to prison if he doesn’t meet his probation requirements. It was the harshest sentence he could have received without departing from Minnesota sentencing guidelines, Johnson said.

More than 50 people packed into the courtroom to witness the sentencing hearing.

Holthus pleaded guilty to a felony charge of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct in August. He admitted to sexually touching a man from his church to whom he was also providing religious advice. Holthus was serving as a pastor at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lake Crystal and St. John Lutheran Church in Rapidan when the assault occurred.

When Holthus was arrested Nov. 8, 2005, he was charged with more serious crimes including first-degree criminal sexual conduct. The criminal complaint that was filed accused him of sexually touching the same victim many times over several years, starting when the victim was about 14 years old.

In a written statement read by someone else during the hearing, the victim said he didn’t realize when he was still a child that he was being manipulated by Holthus. He said he stayed alone in motel rooms with Holthus “multiple times” and was bothered when Holthus always asked for rooms with one bed. When rooms with two beds were all that was available, Holthus would “end up in my bed anyhow,” the victim said.

He told investigators Holthus would sexually touch him during those overnight trips.

“I came to dread motels because I knew what would happen,” the victim said. “I want the whole world to know that James Holthus is a pedophile. I know, if given the opportunity, he’ll strike again.”

The victim’s mother also made a statement in court. She said she blamed herself for what happened to her son because she didn’t act earlier when noticing suspicious behavior. She listed several incidents where she wished she would have called police, including times when she found Holthus sitting outside her house at night and when he told her about sexually charged incidents involving her son.

She also asked Johnson to go easy on her former pastor.

“As a Christian, I’m asking for leniency,” she said. “My family won’t understand this. However, our children have to be protected.”

Seven people gave statements on behalf of Holthus, including several men who were former students of his when he was a teacher at a small rural Lutheran school outside of Lakefield in southwestern Minnesota. The school closed more than a decade ago.

The former students said they had good memories of Holthus bringing them on trips. Two of those men also said they spent the night at his house alone with him, and one said they shared the same bed.

They all said nothing ever happened to them and there were no rumors about anything happening to other boys in the small town near Worthington.

“I believe in my heart ‘Mr. H’ did do what he said he did, and nothing else,” said Brian Rademacher, one of the former students. “He’s an honest man and would never lie.”

Holthus’ attorney, Christopher Rosengren, also pointed out that no other allegations have been made against Holthus since his arrest was reported a year ago.
