Conflicted: University of Notre Dame honors family planning group, then pro-life leader

by Kathleen Gilbert

SOUTH BEND, Indiana, May 6, 2011 (LifeSiteNews.com) - While the University of Notre Dame has taken several highly public steps to reaffirm its commitment to pro-life values in the last two years, the school sent mixed messages late last month after it honored a charity health organization that promotes condoms and emergency contraception, and then a top pro-life Catholic leader, on successive days.

According to the independent university newspaper The Observer, the nonprofit organization Partners In Health (PIH) was honored on April 27 with the 2011 Notre Dame Award for International Human Development and Solidarity by University President Fr. John Jenkins.

As Abraham Lincoln said, a house divided cannot stand.

This University seems to be schizophrenic these days...

This University one day honors emergency contraception group that promotes condoms, then the next day promotes a pro-life award...

Splitting from reality...

Pray the good triumphs over evil at ND.

Ping.

We know why Notre Dame was not involved in dropping charges against ND88. Too busy supporting abortion-causes and pro-life causes at the same time...

The honor for pro-life is a good thing... But...

In the 20th century book: Poem of the Man-God, it appeared Satan creeped into the book by putting parts into the book that contradicted the Bible (Jesus' last words were corrupted in the book).

Many in the Vatican would not deny that there is much truth in this book. Yet it is condemned by the Vatican.

One can have 90% truth and 10% lies -- and be doing the work of Satan. In the Poem of the Man-God, the last words of Jesus on the cross was changed...

A poor suffering woman was made a tool of Satan in the writing of the Poem of the Man-God.

The book gives you the feel of being in Israel 2,000 years ago... But the lies are woven into the book as a trap...

There is this link on the Poem of the Man God from EWTN -- written by Father Mitch Pacwa, SJ:

IS "THE POEM OF THE MAN-GOD" SIMPLY A BAD NOVEL?

IS "THE POEM OF THE MAN-GOD" SIMPLY A BAD NOVEL?

Maria Valtorta's multi-volume life of Jesus flirts with heresy and exhibits bad taste. Its claim to authenticity have been rejected by Rome.

by Father Mitch Pacwa, S.J.

"The Poem of the Man-God" is a five-volume "narrative" of the life of Jesus written in the 1940s by a sickly Italian woman named Maria Valtorta. "Poem" purports to fill in the details of Jesus' life left blank by the four Gospels. Such narratives have been produced since the second century A.D. Some were written by gnostic heretics. Some by New Agers and occultists. And some were produced by pious Christians who made up stories about Jesus to edify their readers and listeners. ...

Maybe Father Mitch Pacwa and other good priests should visit Notre Dame just Archbishop Chaput has recently done...

Notre Dame is severely confused. And people KNOW it. Ever since Obama was there......and the libs are still there....ND will never rebound. Bummer for them.

They want to be loved by Popular Culture and probably have some pressure from government research grant committees or something.

As having close relatives who attended ND and did love it.....their inclusion of golden calves and V-monologues was just stupid. Their philosophy has been contaminated by Postmodern German philosophy......and cultural Marxism.

They pretend to be ignorant of Catholic Theology....or worse, defy it. Unforgivable in a Catholic university.
