ummm . . . Fathers teaching their boys and girls . . .
My ten-year-old knows more about camping, knots, shooting and survival than my 17-year-old boyscout neighbor. I don’t mean offense, but “pass a test, get a badge and move on” isn’t teaching what the scouts used to teach. Badges get Eagle Scout and Eagle Scout helps get into some colleges and military academies.
The symbols of achievement have become the achievement. That is pointless.
