Demon Flees after Six Long Years
Gospel For Asia ^ | June 22, 2011

Posted on 06/30/2011 6:02:26 PM PDT by wmfights

Sukhra Chauhan was unknowingly possessed by a demon for almost six years. After an arduous search for deliverance, she unexpectedly came to the right place—her relative's house.

Sukhra's torment robbed her entire family of peace. Desperate for a solution to her problems, they spent a lot of money going to magicians who could supposedly heal sicknesses.

None of them could help Sukhra. But when she went to another state for a religious festival, she ended up visiting a relative, a Christian woman who belongs to the congregation of GFA-supported pastor Vibhas Jaiteley. Sukhra's relative realized she was demon possessed and asked her to stay in her home for a few days.

Meanwhile, Vibhas' church members were meeting for a three-day session of fasting and prayer. Sukhra's relative took her to the prayer meeting, where the whole congregation prayed for the demon-possessed woman.

On the third day of the gathering, God freed Sukhra from the demon's grip, and Sukhra decided to follow Jesus!

Sukhra returned home and started attending worship services at a church in her own community. She would appreciate prayer that she continues to grow closer to the Lord and that her family also opens their hearts to His love.

Pastor Vibhas requests prayer that he will witness God's healing of several friends who are suffering from chronic illnesses. Also, pray God will protect and guide Vibhas and provide a church building for his congregation.

And, how did they know it was around for 6 years?

Maybe she is a US Senator?

She probably knew something was wrong, but not what and certainly not what to do about it.

That is why we have modern medicine. The patient does not have to have complete medical knowledge in order to seek help.

It’s not that hard to figure out, despite the indefinite antecedent. She was really messed up. She didn’t know it was demonic possession. She arduously searched for a way to get better. Nothing worked until Yahweh acted.

She went to magicians. Hardly arduous. Not medical doctors. If this was India, their medicine is as good as that in this country. Methinks that this is a fairy story that people here are falling for - line, hook and sinker.

“Then what did Christ expel? Did He lie? Are the Gospels lies?”

There are a lot of things that Christ did that you can’t do.

Exorcisms are not restricted to the Roman-Catholic Church. Though probably more efficacious when performed by a RC priest, since it is, after all, God’s true Church. :^)

They sure do have a lot of priests that need to be exorcised. Probably part of the reason is the silly idea that they are God's true church.

That is incorrect as well as not biblical, it’s simply misleading.

Amen!

You do raise a good point ... it always seems that these stories of miracles come from some 3rd world country where there is no CNN et. al.

But ... I was encouraged by the story. The main clue to me that this was describing actual events is that the pastor followed the guidelines in the epistles for dealing with satan.

It wasn't the usual "power of God at the hand of man" story about how some exorcist cast it out in the name of Jesus and then finished his coffee.

The pastor actually followed the guidelines given in the epistles via Eph. 6:10-18, 1 Peter 5:6-11, James 4:6-10.

I am more likely to believe these occurances if they are Biblical.

Since the story is not a blow-by-blow replay of her life, one can only assume that she probably did. It certainly would have been one of the options considered.

There are a lot of things that Christ did that you can’t do.

I never said I was Him, nor did I claim His powers.

So, that Red Herring is gone.

With that taken care of, let's get back to the original question then (unless you want to throw the train off the track again and talk about foot fungus or something).

Did Christ, or did He not, expel many demons on multiple occasions in the Gospel accounts?

The answer is "yes" - and that is evidence that demons are real, and they exist. The four Gospel accounts are the most significant historical documents in all of human history.

Since there really aren't any details included, any serious reader without a hysterical agenda could only reasonably conclude that this is a fairy story told to evangelicals' children as a bedtime story.

There is not enough evidence in the world that can convince a person who will not believe.

Believing in fairy stories with not a shred of evidence makes it abundantly clear that one is simply indulging in one's whims and not hearing the word of God.

For the time will come when men will not put up with sound doctrine. Instead, to suit their own desires, they will gather around them a great number of teachers to say what their itching ears want to hear. (2 Timothy 4:3)

Demonic possession is REAL. I've seen it. I don't want to go into the specifics, because it involved someone very close to me. But, I can say I have looked a demon in the eye.

You've met Nancy Pelosi?

Then why are we not raising the dead here?Giving sight to the blind here?Removing demons here?Other than the fakes on tv?Walk with me to a hospital and heal those within.Or is it here,,we have no faith?

Because faith comes by hearing. Are miracles, signs and wonders, and the power of God by the Holy Spirit still being taught in America's churches? We are a technological and skeptical nation. This has crept into the churches.

Jesus Himself could do no miracles when he came back to Nazareth because of their unbelief. How can we expect to do better than Him when there is little faith?

Then why didn't she seek medical aid for physical torment? That's what you and I would do.

Why did you add 'physical'? Where does it say that?

And, besides if she did, what could they find with tests/exrays - nothing. They would tell her it's all in her head.

So if she went the medical route, she'd be drugged up right now - their answer for everything.

Too broad a brush. It shows how there are those who don’t believe in spite of seeing how many were healed. No one can reach that mindset, so they live in their misery.

There are many many who believe today but too many have unbelief. They know/believe God heals but ‘will he do it for me’ mindset.

Mark 9:23 “’If you can’?” said Jesus. “Everything is possible for him who believes.”

Mark 9:24 “Immediately the boy’s father exclaimed, “I do believe; help me overcome my unbelief!”

Mark, using Scripture wrongly to SUIT YOUR OWN agenda I see. What part of the below is not sound doctrine? It's a command! HIS CHURCH knows this...

Matt 10:7 As you go, preach this message: 'The kingdom of heaven is near.'

Matt 10:8 "Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received, freely give".

What other kind is there? Torment manifests itself physically. Therefore one who is rational seeks to diagnose it from there, not consult with magicians.

And, besides if she did, what could they find with tests/exrays - nothing. They would tell her it's all in her head.

So if she went the medical route, she'd be drugged up right now - their answer for everything.

It does not say that she went the medical route at all. It says that went to magicians. However, it's a fairy story anyway. You guys remind me of the MSM reporting - the statements along the lines that it's fake, but accurate.
