A correspondent on a Fox News program claims GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney isn't a Christian.
While discussing Texas Governor Rick Perry's possible run for the GOP presidential nomination, "Fox and Friends" co-host Ainsley Earhardt claimed Mitt Romney, a well-known Mormon, isn't Christian.

“How can someone belong to the Church of Jesus CHRIST of Latter -Day Saints and not be a CHRISTian?”
The same way the Westboro Baptist Church isn’t Baptist.
LDS follow a different gospel from a false prophet.
The Constitution prohibits a religious test for each candidate.

Time for PoliSci 101 again, is it?
The Constitution prohibits the Government from instituting a religious test to run for office.
It does not prohibit the individual voter from considering the religion of a candidate. Christians can and should consider the religion and worldview of candidates since it will affect how the govern.
Easy...in the last days there will be many false prophets and false Christs...claiming to have the truth...Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.Just because someone claims to be a Christian...does not make him a Christian....Christianity is a condition of the heart....a faith in Jesus and his sacrifice....they have added to the Bible with all sorts of un-scriptural teachings...that do not line up with the Word of God...that’s how...I can call myself Ebony Africans..but I would still be white
BINGO!!
“Ainsley Earhardt claimed Mitt Romney, a well-known Mormon, isn’t Christian.”
If he holds to Mormon beliefs then he cannot by definition BE a Christian.
Oh He WILL decide - but that will be based upon how He defined Himself.
He defined Himself as God
Mormons define him as the spirit brother of Satan
He told us to use spiritual judgement to identify His truth from false ones.
Afraid to discover just what mormons think and teach about Jesus? God? The Bible?
Hah, had to laugh at your post. I’m Episcopalian and we seem to accept everything else!
“How can someone belong to the Church of Jesus CHRIST of Latter -Day Saints and not be a CHRISTian?”
You can call me a blackberry all day long and yet I am no more juicy than when you began.
status in the voting booth is being taught wholesale in Sunday School or Gospel Doctrine lessons.

IIRC, it was the Priesthood and Relief Society manuals that covered topics like voting. ;)
We’re voting for a president, not a pastor.
0 0 0 0 0 0 0
Would you vote for a president who puts feelings over facts?
Who thinks he is an Isrealite and Jews are ‘gentiles’?
Who took an sacred blood oath to put an organization (not God, not Christ) above ALL things?
Romney’s religion matters because it will affect how he governs.
No man but the subject himself has standing to decide this question.
Did it affect how he governed as governor of Massachusetts? Did it affect how his father governed as governor of Michigan? Unless I see how they used their office to advance the Mormon religion (which I don't), I would not disqualify someone because he is a Mormon--a religion I thoroughly reject.
The reason I would not vote for Romney is not because he is a Mormon, but rather because I do not know which Romney I would be getting, the conservative-talking candidate or the liberal-compromising governor.
A true Christian follows Christ by both precept and example. We should let HIM decide who is and who is not Christian

How is what I said wrong? Christians are Christians because of their faith in the Grace of Christ and His work on the Cross. Period.
They show OTHERS they are Christians by their deeds. That is sanctification (our walk with the Lord) and has nothing to do with justification (being saved, getting to Heaven).
Christ had decided who is and is not a Christian, it is in the New Testament plainly, and Mormons are not Christians. They have a false Christ (created being who earned Godhood), 3 Gods (not the Trinity), believe they can become God, renounce the CROSS (central to the message of the New Testament), and reject Grace in favor of works).
No surprise there at all.
Finally, Christians are called to judge false teachings and warn others. That is what we are doing. And just in case you missed how I know so much about Mormonism, see my tagline.
Im Episcopalian and we seem to accept everything else!

I know and it is troubling to see the what the Episcopalians are doing to themselves. My grandfather was Episcopalian (several generations) and my Greatx5 grandfather was the first missionary to Iowa territory (Episcopalian).
Good luck to you and I’m praying for a turn around for your church.
Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: [it is] the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.
Eventually true faith produces works, and thus works can be evidence of faith. Someone who claims to have faith but has no works is advised to examine his faith as James points out.
However, Jesus said some would point to all the works they did in Jesus's name and Jesus would say, "I never knew you.". Not I knew you, but you didn't work hard enough. Or I knew you but, but you failed. No, I NEVER knew you. Works won't save you, having a relationship with Jesus does. Works don't save you, but they do eventually result from faith.
A Christian should have confidence in his salvation. He should be able to say as Paul said, 2Ti 1:12 "...for I know whom I have believed, and am persuaded that he is able to keep that which I have committed unto him against that day." or "Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
Not all Christians have that confidence, but they should have.
Not everyone is prepared to do good works when they are saved. And some don't get the chance. The thief on the cross next to Jesus had no works. Deathbed confessions have no chance to do works, yet I believe most are real and most will be accepted.
I'm confident that most of the mainline Christian teach the gospel, and that most in those organizations will develop a relationship with Jesus.
LDS though has redefined who Jesus is. According to LDS Jesus is not one with the father, he's one god among many gods. He's just a man who was promoted to godhood by a god that was once a man and who himself was promoted to godhood by another god, in an infinite line of men who became gods and then promoted another.
LDS has redefined what salvation is. According to LDS, Jesus died for all men and only the "really bad" ones go to hell, but they can't really tell you what makes you really bad. According to LDS, Salvation through Jesus gets you eternal life as a slave on earth. It doesn't apparently make you blameless and to actually get to heaven and enjoy the presence of God, you have to earn it and accept Joseph Smith and then you become a God yourself.
Of course, most of the LDS I talk to now, say LDS doctrines aren't really discussed anymore. They just talk about how being part of the church has impacted their life and doctrine is kept in the closet.
Paul warned against those preaching another Jesus or another Gospel.
2Cr 11:2 For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy. For I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present [you as] a chaste virgin to Christ.2Cr 11:3 But I fear, lest somehow, as the serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be corrupted from the simplicity [fn] that is in Christ. 2Cr 11:4 For if he who comes preaches another Jesus whom we have not preached, or [if] you receive a different spirit which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted--you may well put up with it!
Doesn't matter. If the word "Mormon" is in the article, this loser will post it.
Trying to convince himself he did the right thing by leaving. Seems to be a never ending process. Must be some form of Therapy. :-)

If you believe this then you don’t know either Mormon doctrine or the Bible.
