An immigrant group based in Bern has called for the emblematic white cross to be removed from the Swiss national flag because as a Christian symbol it "no longer corresponds to today's multicultural Switzerland."
Ivica Petrusic, the vice president of Second@s Plus, a lobbying group that represents mostly Muslim second-generation foreigners in Switzerland (who colloquially are known as secondos) says the group will launch a nationwide campaign in October to ask Swiss citizens to consider adopting a flag that is less offensive to Muslim immigrants.
In a September 18 interview with the Swiss newspaper Aargauer Zeitung, Petrusic said the cross has a Christian background and while the Christian roots of Switzerland should be respected, "it is necessary to separate church and state" because "Switzerland today has a great religious and cultural diversity. One has to ask if the State wants to continue building up a symbol in which many people no longer believe."
In the interview, Petrusic said Switzerland needs new symbols with which everyone, including non-Christians, can identify. As an alternative to the current Swiss flag (see image here), Petrusic proposed the former flag of the Helvetic Republic (see image here) which was officially introduced in 1799 and consisted of green, red and yellow colors. "Those colors are similar to the current flags of Bolivia and Ghana and would represent a more progressive and open-minded Switzerland," Petrusic said.
The proposal to change the Swiss flag has been met with outrage across the political spectrum and is sure to fuel anti-immigrant sentiments in Switzerland.
Sylvia Flückiger a councillor with the conservative Swiss People's Party (SVP) said the demands are: "Totally unacceptable. With our Swiss flag there is nothing to change. The next thing you know, they will demand even more, that we change our constitution."

I would encourage reading of the whole article because it lists a number of actions the Swiss people have taken to push back Islam a bit which is very encouraging! They are getting tough with the Muzzies!

We’ve had more than enough lies, scams, and just plain troublemaking from “Bosnian” muslims, who whine and whine about all the “atrocities” perpetrated against them by the Serbs of Republika Srpska. clinton bombed the Serbs, their leaders Radovan Karadzic and Ratko Mladic are being tried in The Hague, and the alleged “genocide” at Srebrenica is held up in all the world even by know-nothings like Rubio as the worst “atrocity” since Hitler.
In reality, the Bosnian War was started by the islamist Izetbegovic and his clique because they wanted an islamic state in Europe! Together with their Al Qaeda and Iranian allies—and supported by clinton, they murdered thousands of Orthodox Christian Serbs around Srebrenica, chopping off their heads, burning them in their homes and churches, etc. Yes, it was a brutal civil war, with atrocities on all sides, but only Serbs are blamed by the “international community”.
Now the “Bosnian” muslims get to play the “victim” all over the world, being admitted as “immigrants” to civilized Western Europe and America, having the crimes they commit in these countries overlooked, and getting to tell their adopted countries to remove their crosses, etc.
But it’s time to say, ENOUGH!!!! Expose the “Bosnian” muslims and their scams, stop giving them any special privileges, and free Republika Srpska and its wartime leaders!!!!

Perhaps the Swiss could add the image of a pig or Swiss Mountain Dog or, failing that, demonstrate inclusion by adding a Star of David.
Perhaps the folks, new to Switzerland, could go find some rat infested sand hole better to their liking and just move there.

I can’t say what I want to for fear of being banned. The world is crazy.
The fruits of naive, open arms liberalism which believes all cultures are equal and good. Europeans have swallowed the poison by which their own cultures will die.
Awhile back, there was an issue in Switzerland where some wanted to outlaw mosques, or maybe require them not to have the characteristic mosque towers, I can’t remember.
My Swiss exchange student this summer said that many urban dwellers thought those country Swiss back up there in the mountains were so unreasonable and bigoted for objecting to letting peaceful immigrants have a place to pray.
Wonder what she will think when she hears about this.
This is actually a good reason to stop being “multi-cultural.”
The official position should be “If our culture, our traditions, or our symbols offend you, SwissAir is ready when you are - or even when you’re not.”

They'd be better served adopting an immigration policy that excludes the intentionally and chronically offended.
The thing with the Muslims.... if they see that you are the kind that is willing to bend, they will make you bend more. The way to deal with Muslims is like how they do in Gujarat, India. Make them live in fear.
The next thing you know, they will demand even more, that we change our constitution.

Nah, Swiss women — at least the German ones are not pretty imho. the French ones are so-so while the Italian are pretty.
