(Reuters) - New York City authorities said they will shut down a city bus service run by Orthodox Jews if the group doesn't stop making women sit at the back of the bus.
The Private Transportation Corp, which operates the city's public B110 bus under a franchise arrangement, has come under criticism following publicity about its practice of making women give up their seats in the front to promote Hasidic customs of gender separation.
New York City's Department of Transportation spokesman Scott Gastel said the agency's executive director Anne Koenig has asked the company to respond to the allegations and was waiting to hear back.

Right, but if this was a Islamic bus service that made women sit in the back, you’d be outraged, so let’s be consistent..
But at the same time you ‘champions of women’s rights’ seem to have no problem when it comes to m0slems treating their own women worse than Michael Vick treats his dogs.
From what I read it wasn’t the bus service but the passengers that made women sit in the back.
I doubt whether anyone is MAKING them sit in the back. Presumably, as Orthodox Jews, they are taking this bus because they WANT to sit separately from the men.
If the Bloomberg regime has it’s way, they’ll probably end up walking.
Just let the women sit in the front; men in the back. Separation of sexes, not second-class citizenship, is the issue. The Hadisics just want to practice their faith.
I wouldn’t be “outraged” if this were a PRIVATELY RUN Islamic bus service and Islamic women were getting on the bus of their own free will. I would shrug my shoulders, just as I do here.
It’s when the muzzies want ISLAMIC LAW in American Courts... that’s what I’m reserving my outrage for. And for all the leftists who support them.
I personally am p*ssed at bus #87 on the NJ Transit System (from Hoboken to Jersey City) because they run their buses on a schedule that’s about as predictable as drunkards walk... but it’s up to me whether I feel like waiting for the d*mn bus or finding another way home. And I often walk.
So please, allow me to withhold my “outrage” in this instance.
Does the bus run on time? Then it’s better than what I get, I’ll tell you that much.

Who wants to sit with men on a bus, anyway? If it’s your spouse, Hasidim shouldn’t have a problem: husband and wife are allowed to be near one another.
Put the ladies in front - they’re probably pregnant or holding children or groceries, and they shouldn’t have to negotiate the aisle - and put the men in the back. Post a sign! “For the convenience of women, the first ten rows are reserved for their use.”

I am with you on that! Men have never been pregnant (not real men anyway) and have no idea how hard that is lugging the extra weight. Then pregnant and have kids in tow? Yea let them have the front of the bus. If they are so concerned that the men will lust over the women then install a privacy curtain or something.
As for you running the world? My granny always said “the hand the rocks the cradle rules the world”. Think of it!
I can't even get my family members to put their dirty clothes in the laundry basket, so I think ruling the world through them is going to be an Epic Fail event.
