>> the breakaway LDS sect of Mormonism
Breakaway?? I thought the LDS sect was the majority of mormons, by a very large margin?
If the LDS sect broke away from the mormons 150 years ago because of the JST, then why quote the JST now as proof of the LDS sect’s apostasy?
Yes, the LDS are the "breakaway" sect, they are the ONLY ones who abandoned the JST version. What i am trying to show is the pattern of deception they use. They left true Joseph Smith mormonism long ago, now they claim all the other branches are rogue. They are the largest and wealthiest so they get away with it. You will note if you watch these threads that very much of the time they do nothing but try to cover up the original sourced quotes of the original founders of mormonism that folks like myself post. The fact is they are so far detqatched from "mormonism" as it was restored, it actually embarasses them...And because they can plainly see the internet is destroying them, they are looking at Christianity as nothing more than a place to hide.
The problem is now in the last 20 years or so they have set their sights on Christianity. The same pattern will be repeated, they are not Christians, but first they will claim to be, and if they succeed they will use their MASSIVE wealth (Think Fortune 50, not 500 sized corporation) to run true Christians into the ground.
Brian, I want to make sure that you know that the book of "Abraham" is in the lds sect's "Pearl of Great Price", FLDS/LDS "prophet" Joseph Smith claimed to translate it off of a piece of parchment found on some egyptian mummies which were part of a travelling circus sideshow. The "Translation" was proven to be utterly false with the discovery of the Rosetta Stone, many years later. It turns out the ancient drawing was a very common eqyptian "have a good afterlife" card called a "book of breathings", which was placed with almost all the dead. This is from the lds sect's Pearl of Great Price".
***Breakaway?? I thought the LDS sect was the majority of mormons, by a very large margin?***
When Joe Smith got killed, the Mormon church had quite a few men claim to be the true leaders of the church. Each split off and went their separate ways.
Some followed various “prophets” like B Young, others went with Strang (Strangites), Gladen (Gladenites), and quite a few others like the RLDS.
Some went to Utah, others went to Texas or Michigan and some stayed where they were.
Even these groups fragmented. The Morrisites broke from the LDS and were shot down by Young’s militias.
Someone on FR posted a list of the various Mormon sects and they are many!
