In-your-face atheists attempting new marketing strategy

Freddie Schineller is a hip-looking math professor with a salt-and-pepper goatee. His artist wife, Holly, has long blond hair and stays home to take care of their four kids, ages 8-12.

The middle-class family lives in a modest Tempe home full of lots of love, noise and pets, including two dogs and a python named Monty.

Their bookshelves hold works by Plato, Leo Tolstoy and Franz Kafka, as well as the Book of Mormon and a Bible.

But Holly and Freddie don't believe in G0d. And, earlier this year, they decided it was time to "come out of the closet" in a big way about who they are.

After a family meeting, the Schinellers volunteered to appear on a Phoenix-area billboard for a campaign by the Freedom From Religion Foundation, a national group that aims to boost social acceptance of atheists and spotlight the growing numbers of non-religious Americans.

Would you rather go though life believing in God and find out at the end that you were wrong?

or

Would you rather go through life not believing in God and finding out at the end that you were wrong?

Put me into the first camp.

From the article: “Love plus critical thinking equals open minds.”

That’s a typical and not-so-subtle atheist assertion that you’re, well, just SMARTER than believers.

Also from the article: you’ve got books by “Plato, Kafka and Tolstoy” on your shelves. But guess what? THEY WERE BELIEVERS. All of them.

I guarantee you’re not smarter than those guys. And while we’re at it, you’re also not smarter than Einstein, Newton, and Shakespeare — believers all.

So that argument is demolished. What else have you got, geniuses?

What fascinates me is that atheists, instead of quietly going about their business, feel the need to evangelize their faith.

Why?

Unlike, say Christians or even Muslims, there is no God commanding that they spread the Good News. So what is their motive?

Could it be “Satan”? Just curious.

I'm not a psychologist but my best guess is that they are hoping that someone will finally convince them that there is more to life. Or maybe you're right - the devil's whispering in their ears.

A while ago I was assigned to a remote UN post with Soviet officers alongside us Americans. Some of them thought it'd be fun to try to convince us how atheism was all there was. I would wait until we were one-on-one in our outpost and work through the math with them on the probablity of a self-sustaining cell occurring on its own with the ability to ingest, digest, process, excrete, and replicate itself using 30,000 code elements within its DNA chain. Every one of them - all diehard communists - conceded that the odds were beyond astronomical. Some of those Sovs very discretely asked me to arrange for their baptism and I got it done.

See, this is why folks that believe in God get pissed at agnostics and atheists.

“Faith without reason is true blindness.”

The presumption by agnostics and atheists that my faith isn’t based on reason and evidence - I reject their premise. Just because I can’t convince an atheist or agnostic that my reasons are valid, does not inherently mean they are not valid reasons. It may just mean the atheist/agnostic deliberately refuses to see them as reasonable, or is not convinced they are, or is not equipped to determine that my beliefs are based in reason. The atheists/agnostics own subjective personal biases may prevent them from saying they are reasonable, as what is “reasonable” varies from person to person.

The bible is full of history and time after time has been proven correct - from archaeology and history. There’s no evidence for this king, then something is discovered that confirms the bible is true.

The atheists and agnostics don’t want to do that because if there really is no God (which is wrong), then trying to live a Christian life really crimps their lifestyle un-necessarily. They have to really try to be nicer to people and get along, and not just do whatever the heck they want to anyone whenever they want, and it also means the absolutes of right and wrong are real, and that means they can never do some things without it always being regarded morally as wrong.

It basically stops them from no limits, do whatever the hell you want. (Which by the way is the credo of Satanists - it’s on their satanic bible. “Do what thou wilt”)

It’s this condescending attitude that is their underlying flaw. Like Christians dont’ examine their faith. Like we all just believe because we can’t handle life without a crutch.

I tell you what, if I wanted to blindly believe in something without any evidence or reason to, I’d VOTE FOR OBAMA.

...”I’d like to see these atheists place a billboard near a Mosque or near a black church in the ‘hood.”

That’s right! Let the atheists speak for every American when it comes to Islamic extremism.

Lucifer thought he was superior to God too. The superiority complex of atheists come from confusion. They confuse folk tales/fairy tales, Hans Christian Anderson, The Brothers Grim with the Bible, with God, faith, miracles and Jesus. They confuse magic with miracles. And they don’t understand that coincidences are really answers to somebody else’s prayers.

Atheists around here have adopt-a-highway signs.

Reminds me to pray for them every time I see one.
