This site has some thing called the Atheist Christmas Coloring Book. It is for KIDS and tries to steal Christmas from Christians and make it for everyone.

This is crazy and it all makes sense now as just the other day, my entire family was decorating our house for the holidays and all of a sudden these armed atheists from the federal government kicked in our front door and forced me to go to my computer and download the Atheist Coloring Book and give it to my children!

How shocking that some Americans are exercising their First Amendment rights with respect to the topic of Christmas. It’s also shocking that they’re producing material aimed at children. It’s not like any religions put out coloring books for children either. Must be a brand new technique just developed now.

Since Christmas is really “Christ Mass”, it is a Christian holiday and since they are atheists, they should just ignore the whole thing.

I don't see any Atheist Hanukkah or Ramadan campaigns.

What Christmas?

I see shows on TV about Santa, Frosty, Rudolph, elves and Grandma getting run over by reindeer.

I go to the mall and people wish me “Happy Holidays” or “Season’s Greetings”.

Kids leave school for “winter break” now.

I think the atheists and their ilk have done a pretty good job of taking Christ out of Christmas.

Christmas actually came about during the reign of Constantine. The holiday was originally one for Pagan winter rituals. Constantine allowed Christians to have their celebrations at the same time. This was a big deal considering how unfriendly the Roman Empire had been towards Christians in the past...

That said, there is little anyone can do to change the way we celebrate Christ on ANY day of the year.

The Bible talks about the continuing degradation of mankind and we see it more every day. We should EXPECT this and make sure our kids are educated on what the Bible says. Then we won’t need to worry about silly little coloring books :)

I looked at the book online. Of course the author has a right to write it and publish it, but he does not need to be antagonistic to Christians - indeed that might contradict what he says is the purpose of Christmas for everyone, cheer and joy. I suppose you could be cheerful about putting down your opponents - it’s true he doesn’t say anything about good will.

As a Christian, I have no problem explaining to my children the pagan elements of the Christmas celebration and talking about how we have adapted them to our faith.

There are plenty of atheists with good will out there who tell their children, well, the Christians are celebrating the birth of Jesus, but it’s a good time of year to celebrate with lights and warmth and beauty, isn’t it? Always good to remember love and family and friends and good will to all people.

Many theologians and scholars also say that Christ was likely born in the Fall - maybe September.

About the only thing clear is that it is nearly certain that Jesus was NOT born in December.

Constantine got the "ball rolling" as far as Christian adoption of pagan times of celebration/feasts as "Christian" holy days... but as the "Holy Roman Empire" spread with the Roman Church as the driving force behind it, domination (appeasement) of conquered pagans "required" adopting in those pagan rituals and celebrations - forming the hybrid holidays "we" celebrate today.

Where in the New Testament is the celebration (or keeping) of Christmas (or Easter - outside of the remembrance of Christ's perfect sacrifice in the celebration of the Lord's Supper) mentioned? It isn't, because neither of these were officially celebrated for centuries when they were attached to pagan festivals.

Does this mean Christians shouldn't celebrate Christmas or Easter? No - but it does mean we should draw a line and clarify what is truth from myth and keep Christ at the center (not bunnies, eggs, 3 kings, a tearless Jesus, trees, and so many other pagan symbols and signs).

Merry Christmas and I don't accept your modern relativistic answer. There are moral absolutes.
