Pastor at Santorum rally: Americans won’t vote for Mormon president, Mormon church is racist
The Palm Beach Post ^ | January 22nd, 2012 | Andrew Abramson

Posted on 01/23/2012 3:10:27 AM PST by 2ndDivisionVet

Rev. O’Neal Dozier, the conservative pastor of Pompano Beach’s Worldwide Christian Center, told the Palm Beach Post Sunday that Mitt Romney cannot win the presidency because Americans won’t vote for a Mormon president.

Following his third place finish in South Carolina, Rick Santorum made his first Florida campaign stop at Dozier’s church, where he gave a faith-based sermon. Dozier has been an outspoken critic of homosexuality and radical Islam. In November, former presidential candidate Herman Cain decided minutes before a speech not to have Dozier deliver his invocation, as was originally planned.

“You can look at the June Gallup poll that shows the people have already spoken – 22 percent of the electorate will not vote for a Mormon,” Dozier said. “The American people will not vote for a Mormon to be president of the United States.”

Dozier, who is black, said a Republican will need at least 10 percent of the black vote to win the presidency.

“Blacks are not going to vote for anyone of the Mormon faith,” Dozier said. “The book of Mormon says the Negro skin is cursed.”

From 1849 through 1978 the Church of Latter-Day Saints barred blacks from its priesthood. The church has lifted but not repudiated the policy.

Dozier said if Romney is the nominee, President Obama’s surrogates will bring out what Dozier considers to be racist views in the Mormon Church.

Dozier’s comments came after Santorum had left a Coral Springs rally to attend a private fundraiser at the Coral Ridge Country Club. Santorum was not available to comment.

Dozier believes Santorum’s sermon at the Worldwide Christian Center was a step toward making him the preferred choice of black conservative voters.

“He came to a predominately black church, and he began his campaign at the most impoverished, HIV-invested area of South Florida,” Dozier said. “That will be a big boost to blacks Americans. The conservative blacks want a man who is principled.”

Of Newt Gingrich, Dozier was less critical but said he “has issues with Freddie Mae and Freddie Mac, he was and advisor to them and he lobbied for them.”

But Dozier seemed open to a Gingrich endorsement if Santorum falls short, saying, “I’m hoping that doesn’t hurt him in this case because we might need Newt.”

Yes, Romney and Beck both have TRs.
SLC lds never refuted the “blacks are cursed”, just stopped the practice of exclusion.
KKK were democrats
Beck is a fraud and working to godhood, just like Romney
SLC lds is riddled with racism, it is part of their foundation.
You are correct Romney is a liberal and the other stuff is still true.

We quit that around, lessee... 1978.

But you should have seen us BEFORE then!

Whoooee!!!

"You see some classes of the human family that are black, uncouth, uncomely, disagreeable and low in their habits, wild, and seemingly deprived of nearly all the blessings of the intelligence that is generally bestowed upon mankind.

The first man that committed the odious crime of killing one of his brethren will be cursed the longest of any one of the children of Adam. Cain slew his brother. Cain might have been killed, and that would have put a termination to that line of human beings.

This was not to be, and the Lord put a mark upon him, which is the flat nose and black skin. Trace mankind down to after the flood, and then another curse is pronounced upon the same race--that they should be the 'servant of servants', and they will be, until that curse is removed."

Brigham Young-President and second 'Prophet' of the Mormon Church, 1844-1877- Extract from Journal of Discourses.

Here are two examples from their 'other testament', the Book of Mormon.

2 Nephi 5: 21 'And he had caused the cursing to come upon them, yea, even a sore cursing, because of their iniquity. For behold, they had hardened their hearts against him, that they had become like unto a flint; wherefore, as they were white, and exceedingly fair and delightsome, that they might not be enticing unto my people, the Lord God did cause a skin of blackness to come upon them.'

Alma 3: 6 'And the skins of the Lamanites were dark, according to the mark which was set upon their fathers, which was a curse upon them because of their transgression and their rebellion against their brethren, who consisted of Nephi, Jacob and Joseph, and Sam, who were just and holy men.'

August 27, 1954 in an address at Brigham Young University (BYU), Mormon Elder, Mark E Peterson, in speaking to a convention of teachers of religion at the college level, said:

"The discussion on civil rights, especially over the last 20 years, has drawn some very sharp lines. It has blinded the thinking of some of our own people, I believe. They have allowed their political affiliations to color their thinking to some extent.I think I have read enough to give you an idea of what the Negro is after."

"He is not just seeking the opportunity of sitting down in a cafe where white people eat. He isn't just trying to ride on the same streetcar or the same Pullman car with white people. It isn't that he just desires to go to the same theater as the white people. From this, and other interviews I have read, it appears that the Negro seeks absorption with the white race. He will not be satisfied until he achieves it by intermarriage."

"That is his objective and we must face it. We must not allow our feelings to carry us away, nor must we feel so sorry for Negroes that we will open our arms and embrace them with everything we have. Remember the little statement that we used to say about sin, 'First we pity, then endure, then embrace'...."

(Rosa Parks would have probably told Petersen under which wheel of the bus he should go sit.)

1967, (then) Mormon President Ezra Taft Benson said,

"The Communist program for revolution in America has been in progress for many years and is far advanced. First of all, we must not place the blame upon Negroes. They are merely the unfortunate group that has been selected by professional Communist agitators to be used as the primary source of cannon fodder."

We are told that on June 8, 1978, it was 'revealed' to the then president, Spencer Kimball, that people of color could now gain entry into the priesthood.

According to the church, Kimball spent many long hours petitioning God, begging him to give worthy black people the priesthood. God finally relented.

Sometime before the 'revelation' came to chief 'Prophet' Spencer Kimball in June 1978, General Authority, Bruce R McConkie had said:

"The Blacks are denied the Priesthood; under no circumstances can they hold this delegation of authority from the Almighty.

The Negroes are not equal with other races where the receipt of certain blessings are concerned, particularly the priesthood and the temple blessings that flow there from, but this inequality is not of man's origin, it is the Lord's doings."

(Mormon Doctrine, pp. 526-527).

When Mormon 'Apostle' Mark E Petersen spoke on 'Race Problems- As they affect the Church' at the BYU campus in 1954, the following was also said:

"...if the negro accepts the gospel with real, sincere faith, and is really converted, to give him the blessings of baptism and the gift of the Holy Ghost, he can and will enter the celestial kingdom. He will go there as a servant, but he will get celestial glory."

When Mormon 'Prophet' and second President of the Church, Brigham Young, spoke in 1863 the following was also said:

"Shall I tell you the law of God in regard to the African race? If the white man who belongs to the chosen seed mixes his blood with the seed of Cain, the penalty, under the law of God is death on the spot. This will always be so."

(Journal of Discourses, Vo. 10, p. 110)

Yeah; Native Americans are althroughout the Book of MORMON; too.

“I saw a striking contrast in the progress of the Indian people today ... they are fast becoming a white and delightsome people.... For years they have been growing delightsome, and they are now becoming white and delightsome, as they were promised.... The children in the home placement program in Utah are often lighter than their brothers and sisters in the hogans on the reservation.

At one meeting a father and mother and their sixteen-year-old daughter were present, the little member girl-sixteen-sitting between the dark father and mother, and it was evident she was several shades lighter than her parents—on the same reservation, in the same hogan, subject to the same sun and wind and weather.... These young members of the Church are changing to whiteness and to delightsomeness.

One white elder jokingly said that he and his companion were donating blood regularly to the hospital in the hope that the process might be accelerated.

(Improvement Era, December 1960, pp.922-23). (p. 209)

I didn't know Santorum was a minister!

And no, I never heard that about the Mormon faith.

Ooooh!

Stick around and you'll learn LOTS about MORMONism that they do NOT tell in their "I'm a MORMON" TV spots.

There are numerous reasons not to vote for Romney, but adding his religion to the list is bigotry, and I’ll have none of it.

Allah thanks you for your support.

So called “religious” blacks had no problem overlooking Obama’s radical pro-abortion, pro-infanticide beliefs.

I'll cut them some slack, for after all, he IS 'one of them'.

Halfway at least.

Now, after actually SEEING what O is like instead of HOPING what he would be like; I think you'll see LOTS of black folks failing to vote for O again.

" If you think Romney is a bigot because of old doctrine of the Mormon church then you must also believe Glenn Beck is as well. Never have I seen such a fitting tribute to MLK and the civil rights movement than what Glenn Beck did at 8/28 event in D.C.. Not a hint of old church doctrine about blacks ever has come from Beck, or Romney or anyone I know that is Mormon. I think it is damn silly and childish to bring this charge up against Mitt. There are plenty of things not to like Romney for, but if we want to put a label on him because of what his church use to teach about blacks, then all of us should be wearing the labels. It wasn’t the Mormon church that southern men in white hoods attended on Sunday morning, the night after a lynching, or the burning down of a church that welcomed blacks. "

What OLD doctrine?? The lds cult STILL TEACHES that ANYONE whose skin is not "light and delightsome" had their skin MADE dark as a sign of a curse from God! This is not yesterday, this is what they teach today!

Joseph Smith was a country boy and when he saw pictures of a white Jesus in a bible, that's exactly how he visualized all Jews in Israel, as pale-ass Wonder Bread Europeans. He made up the story of how Jews settled America in ancient times, but divided into the Nephites (good) andthe Lamanites (evil)...the Lamanites were punished for being evil by darkening their skin, just as God made Cain black for killing his brother Abel (?!). The Lamanites killed off al the Nephites and Treasure Huntin' Joe found these golden plates that told the whole story, how they were the only ones to pass on the true wishes of God and Satan sent dark people to kill the holy white people off.

God help me, I feel sick and dirty even having to type this $hi+ ...wish some of these "experts on mormonism" would do a little research beyond a freaking lds commercial...seriously...

BTW I'm an ex mormon born into the cult, if there was a pill to forget that experience, I'd take two.

P.S. You know what's really sick? People of color are converting to mormonism in some areas at greater rates than whites...they've swallowed hook line and sinker that their social problems are a sign of their being "cursed by God" and that mormons have the solution...in the early days mormon pioneers converted tribes of native americans, promising them if they were obedient mormons God would "take their curse away" and make them white! There's still a large number of all native mormon cults out there today, believing they are cursed, and made to be inferior as a penalty for murdering white people...back in prehistory when white Jews settled America.....AAAGHHH I can't talk about this crap any more, it makes me want to puke!

If you think Romney is a bigot because of old doctrine of the Mormon church then you must also believe Glenn Beck is as well.

If you have ANY quotes from either of these; rejecting the teachings of the MORMON past; I sure like to see them.

Mitt was high muckety-muck in the LDS 'church' before 1978.

He did NOT (AFAIK) ever speak out about the RACISM in MORMONism.

Heck; the USA gummint got rid of racism... WHEN??

While I dislike Mitt the candidate, I can’t see that his religion itself is an issue.

From this statement, can I assume that you feel a person's religion should not - would not - or could not influence the way they live their life?

I’ve been wondering if his faith might be some of the reason he’s reluctant to release his tax returns. We know he’s tithed millions to the Mormon church, but maybe the actual figure is more staggering than a “few” million. And no matter how great the effort is to mainstream LDS as a legit Christian religion, people will consider it a cult on some level, even if subconsciously. We’re engineered to consider a person a kook if throwing tons of money into a weird cause.

Also, the returns might show the family has donated a paltry amount to charity (aside from LDS), similar to Gore, Clinton, etc.

Romney seems to be a nice guy with a decent family. Maybe he’s too nice to verbally confront the MSM and Obama in a brutal, offensive, and ruthless way. We need that in our candidate.

I can't speak for the Evangelical churches, but in the Catholic Church, lay people do not give sermons; that's the exclusive domain of the clergy.

FLDS/LDS "Prophet" Brigham Young taught that the punishemnt for any member of his cult that married a Black, Indian or Islander was DECAPITATION....And any offspring also would have to be DECAPITATED. Young taught that this "sin" was so serious that it was beyond the atoneing power of Christ, and only the "sinner's" own blood could atone for it.

Bluemoose is a member of the cult.

I'll give him an opportunity to first deny it before I post the referenced quotes from his own books.

Of course he's free to denounce FLDS/LDS "Prophet" Brigham Young as a prophet.

Santorum is correct, breakaway LDS sect mormonism is racist. Even very recently, cult leaders have taught that black/indian/islander folks who "convert" will see their skin and appearance change over time, and will become "white and delightsome".

I think it may be the opposite. The heirarchy in Slc may learn that mitt UNDERPAID his tithe and owes them millions.
