You have my heartfelt prayers. I can understand, my friend is an unemplyed/underemployed construction worker. It has been very tough on him these past couple years...and I think especially to men in general who are self-sufficient. I’ve watched him combing through construction notices sometimes for months on end, making calls, visiting job sites..only to be be told ‘maybe next week, we’ve got enough men, job is on hold”, etc. All I can offer is my support..and it is frustrating and at times, sad.

But I’m equally certain that we will get through this, every last one of us. I wish you well.

Our prayers for you and your family. Hold tightly to their love and return it full intensity. Find private places to cry when you must. I lost my home, had a heart attack, lost the love of my later years (best girl ever) and will tell you that they need to see your emotional stability or they will suffer, but the emotions you feel will not abide stifling; so find a private place when it gets to be too much, have your moment, and get back to the work of life.

“Trust in the LORD with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding. In all thy ways acknowledge him, and he shall direct thy paths.”(Proverbs 3:5-6)

I had to close my business in the spring of 2009. As hard as it was to walk away from that, I realized the God was moving us in a another direction. We now live by absolute faith in the keeping power of the Lord, and have been blessed with a growing on-line and community ministry.

I would encourage you to stop worrying about tomorrow, and focus on doing your best everyday. Do whatever it takes to build your lack of faith in His ability to take care of you and your family, because “without faith it is impossible to please God.”(Hebrews 11:6)

In other words, “Keep your eyes on the promise and not on the present!”

Lord, I lift up to you this precious family, and I ask that you give them the faith, hope, and peace that they need to get through this frightening time.

I thank you for the promises that you've given us, that you WILL provide for us, never leaving nor forsaking us. THANK YOU for the great miracles that you are doing in their lives even now, in Jesus' name, amen.

Find your bible, get to the passages regarding His provision, and PRAY THEM BACK To The Lord. This is VERY powerful (His Word shall not return to Him void, Isaiah 55) for your situation overall, and will strengthen your faith mightily.

Browse the Psalms daily, and also pray them back to Him as you feel led. Out loud is best, even if it's just a tiny whisper. Not sure why, just many years of doing this have shown me this. You'll be surprised what He leads you to. Don't forget Biblegateway.com keyword search. I had an issue with my son two days ago and I put in "day of trouble" and came up with some awesome promises I didn't even know were there (it was fine, BTW, praise God!).

Don't forget that He owns ALL things on the earth, the "cattle on a thousand hills." It's ALL His, and if we ask for bread he will NOT give us a stone (or is that a fish?).

Do you have a smartphone? If so, make sure you have a bible app, great to have during the day during a moment or two of downtime. I have the "Bible Promises" app also, which has been a lifeline for me, this is it in paperback:

The Bible Promise Book

“Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Look at the birds of the air; they do not sow or reap or store away in barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not much more valuable than they? Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?

“And why do you worry about clothes? See how the flowers of the field grow. They do not labor or spin. Yet I tell you that not even Solomon in all his splendor was dressed like one of these. If that is how God clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and tomorrow is thrown into the fire, will he not much more clothe you—you of little faith? So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own. - Matt 6:25-34, NIV

My prayers are with you.
