You're all making two of the same mistakes IMHO. First of all you're assuming that the breakway LDS sect of mormonism believes in the Christ of the bible, which they don't, and secondly you are assuming this makes sense to them, which it doesn't...they are just so brainwashed they accept it.

I am a former breakaway LDS sect "high priest" and bishopric member, having spen 35 years of my life in the deceptive, destructive, and all consuming CULT of Harry Ried and Mitt Romney. I was saved by Christ after being prepared by the FR Inmans, here during Romney's 2008 attempt to steal a second third of the national government for Salt Lake city cult leaders.
In the JST Bible Smith made big changes to the verses you just listed. Allow me to expose them.
John 1:1-2 (KJV)
1 In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2 He was with God in the beginning.

2 The same was in the beginning with God.

No one has ever seen God, but the one and only Son, who is himself God.

Looks like Smith completed deleted verse 18.
LDS sect mormons EITHER can disavow Smith as a prophet OR OWN his corrupt translation of the bible, and the deserve PRECISELY ZERO wiggle room on this from TRUE CHRISTIANS !

If they were honest the LDS reply would be “because our founding prophet was a fraud and entirely full of s***”. Just my opinion and in no way meant to imply that Mormons don’t have a perfect right to believe whatever they choose. But the fact that somebody had to ask such a question reveals a lot.

You just don’t get it do you? Mormonism is a CULT, it is not a Christian entity. No matter what Romney, Beck or the MSM say, it is a cult. It is not grounded on biblical principles, never has been.

I have already said that Mormonism is incompatible with the Nicene Creed and the Word of God.
Mormonism is not Christian by any stretch of the imagination.
