Featured Term (selected at random):
To cast oneself down in front of anyone in adoration or contrition, petition or submission. At the services on Good Friday the ministers lie prostrate before the altar. It is also part of the ordination service for bishops, priests, and deacons. Prostration may also be required during the final profession of vows in some religious orders. Kneeling on both knees with head bowed is a form of prostration.
Catholic Word of the Day links will be provided later by another FReeper. (Would anyone like to help with this?)
