well put all of it.

imho, evil is unleashed like never before. also, instantenous global communication makes a full-functional counterfeit to the Holy Spirit possible for the first time in history.

Yes, history repeats, but it echoes and gets into a feedback loop until it blows your speakers out. I have no doubt that we are in such a time. I also know that the Almighty could postponed it with another tower-of-babel like event, for example. And could do so as long as he sees fit, I trust.

Nonetheless,

They will say, "Where is this 'coming' he promised? Ever since our fathers died, everything goes on as it has since the beginning of creation."
is another little thing to balance on.

Anyway, it's getting tired.

A most astute observation. With information coming at us from so many sources, it is a constant challenge to sift through it. The image that comes to mind is that of the Tower of Babel. So, how can we hear the voice of God in all that din? The greatest joy for me each day is the time spent in quiet prayer. Not surprisingly, we know from scripture, that God speaks to us in such silence: NAB 1 Kings 19

11
1 Then the LORD said, "Go outside and stand on the mountain before the LORD; the LORD will be passing by." A strong and heavy wind was rending the mountains and crushing rocks before the LORD--but the LORD was not in the wind. After the wind there was an earthquake--but the LORD was not in the earthquake.
12
After the earthquake there was fire--but the LORD was not in the fire. After the fire there was a tiny whispering sound.
13
When he heard this, Elijah hid his face in his cloak and went and stood at the entrance of the cave. A voice said to him, "Elijah, why are you here?"
