Then going to hell has nothing to do with whether a person is sinner. Christ committed no sin and went into hell, Hades, as Peter said and this was the Sheol that Ps.16:10 spoke of when Peter quoted it as prophetic of the Messiah.

Is Mr. Zimak telling the truth? or is he confused about the truth of the Scriptures?

LAWYERS ARE US

Language Gymnastics ?

Where are the ambulances tonight?

The general fact is that the most effective way of utilizing human energy is through an organized discussion, which by specialization and social control is, at the same time, organized co-operation.

Lathering Lawyering is too much Lathering? Or is it?

Good Night.

Sometimes “Following the truth” isn’t quite what is expected. And judging by your last post, it can even be unpleasant.

Our Lord and Savior Christ Jesus descended into Abraham’s Bosom, also known as Paradise, a compartment of Hades, the underworld.

Hades has four known compartments: Paradise, The Torments, Tartarus, and The Abyss.

In OT times, the souls of believers descended to Paradise, while the souls of unbelievers were placed in the Torments until the 2nd resurrection and Great White Throne Judgment.

The Abyss and Tartarus are confines of fallen angels with the most criminal confined to the Abyss.

When God the Father released the human spirit of Jesus Christ and God the Holy Spirit brought the soul of Christ back to his body in the tomb and they joined and resurrected, He left Hades and later ascended to Heaven.

Believers when they die today are face to face with the Lord.

Imaginative indeed! Unscriptural but nonetheless imaginative. And unfortunately not “Following the truth” as no such “compartments” are called part of Hades, Sheol in the Scriptures and Christ was resurrected as a spirit person not as spirit plus body united according to Paul in 1 Cor. 15.

Speaking of God’s word, Jesus called it the “truth” to follow as at 1 Cor. 15:45,50.

Am I understanding you correctly - that you are saying Christ was resurrected as a spirit person - according the St. Paul in Corinthians, Chapter 15?

I am lookinbg at my “New Jerusalem Bible”, Cor. ch. 15 - the heading is “THE RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD.”

Paul is emphatic that Jesus was raised from the dead and he states in verses 12-14, “If there is no resurrection of the dead, then Christ cannot have been raised either, and if Christ has not been raised, then our preaching is without substance, and so is your faith.”

The Gospels relate the story of Thomas who stated he would not believe the resurrection of Jesus until he/Thomas put his fingers into the holes of His hands, and put his hand into the wounded side of Jesus.

And we also read about the first manifestation of the risen Jesus on the road to Emmaus when Jesus actually shared a supper with two of his disciples.

I am curious, as I am not certain about your posting regarding he resurrected Jesus as a “spirit person”. Perhaps I am nisinterpretting what you posted?

The New Jerusalem Bible 1 Cor. 15:45,

“So the first man, Adam, as scripture says, became a living soul; and the last Adam has become a life-giving spirit.”

I don't think we have any question about who Paul is talking about here. He says Christ “has become” a spirit by resurrection.

So in answer to: “Am I understanding you correctly - that you are saying Christ was resurrected as a spirit person - according the St. Paul in Corinthians, Chapter 15?”, Yes, you understand what I said correctly...and what Paul said as you see in his comment.

Spirits, angels have appeared with fleshly bodies before, three angels came to Abraham (Gen. 18) and even sat down to eat a meal. Jacob grappled with an angel (Gen. 32) so it was not just a vision but actual material flesh he could grasp that the angel produced.
So that Jesus manifested a fleshly food eating body at will is hardly without precedent. Nor as those angels did, dissolving (for want of a better term) it since as Paul further said in vs. 50 that “flesh and blood cannot inherit God's kingdom.”

But lest there be no doubt, Paul makes clear Jesus was not resurrected as a flesh and blood human but as a spirit and returned to heaven as a spirit.
