Mormon priesthood holder compares PH power to government power [Edit to fit]

Until very recently, when I discovered I had a heart problem, I was employed as a cop. I loved the job because it gave me the unique opportunity to combine my love of helping people, with my joy of firearms and driving fast while not having to worry about traffic tickets. Admittedly, I was never what you would call a super-cop, but I showed up to work, did my job, and for better or worse had a major impact on some peoples lives, most of whom I can't remember, even though they took the time to painfully describe what they would do upon the joy of ever meeting me again, preferably when there were no witnesses, and I had left my gun behind.

I grew up being taught that the lowest deacon has more power then the president of the United States. Well, I was an Elder in the church, which in Mormon theory, meant that I had all the power in the world that there was to have. I was also a cop, which while having more power then most people, is no where near as powerful as what the president possesses, he having command of a couple thousand nuclear bombs among everything else.

I once saved a life, while acting as a police officer. As a priesthood holder, I have given many blessings, that have never once, had an impact on the common cold, let alone stopped someone from dying.

While I have never taken a life, I had the authority to carry a firearm in public, and was trusted by the state, to be able to judge in a moment, if I should pull that firearm, and take the life of another. As an elder, the church never trusted me to be alone with a female.

As a priesthood holder, if I saw someone doing something I did not like, I could dust my feet, or raise my hand to the square and rebuke them, resulting in much loud laughter and mocking. As a police officer, if I saw someone doing something I did not like, I could and have, placed them in handcuffs, and taken them to jail, or failing that issue them a citation that would require them to pay a lot of money, or else go to jail.

But on the other hand, I can't carry a tray full of stale bread, inside a Mormon church, without causing a hissy fit, so maybe a deacon is more powerful.

This "power of the priesthood" is given to 12-year-old mormon boys. Mitt Romney believes in this. Guess that's why he wants to be POTUS. Does he think that would give him double the power??

The White House is just a "stepping stone" to the Great White Thone.

Imagine that. Christians and conservatives voting for a guy who thinks beings will one day bow down & worship him & pray to him.

Aiding & abeting outright idolatry; and providing the worst socalled "conservative" of a POTUS candidate our country has EVER seen...an outright polytheist cultist.

The Lord said His kingdom was not of this world. To think that any priest of any church has power over people in some kind of ruling way is just silly. Since the priesthood can decide if you will be baptized or not they do wield incredible power just not in the way the writer was making fun of.

1 Tim. 3:12: A deacon MUST be the HUSBAND of but one wife and must manage his children and his household well.

LdS.org: A boy is normally ordained a deacon when he is 12 years of age or older.

So how does a 12 year old comply with the Biblical passage? Or is this just one of many Biblical passages that are “translated incorrectly” as mormonism claims?

And what of the “spiritual blood transfusion” to pass on the lineage of Aaron?

And what of the “messenger who descended from heaven in a cloud of light” who purportedly “bestowed” the priesthood upon JS and his minion?

I recall reading something about angels of light in the Bible, oh yeah...

2 Corinthians 11:14 And no marvel; for Satan himself is transformed into an angel of light.

That simply is not taught at church.

Priesthood Power

Ensign magazine, 2001
Elder John H. Groberg

In His love for us, God has decreed that any worthy man, regardless of wealth, education, color, cultural background, or language, may hold His priesthood. Thus, any properly ordained man who is clean in hand, heart, and mind can connect with the unlimited power of the priesthood.

The Ensign is a periodical not a teaching manual. If you had paid attention, the LDS Church does not get involved in anything political other than to tell the member’s to be good citizens and vote, not who to vote for. It is a standard form letter issued every four years. There is no endorsement contained.

Harry Reid is a Mormon, do you have your panties in a bunch over him? Other than he is nuts, greedy and a bold face liar!

The Ensign is a periodical not a teaching manual ...

... and as such it always prints big lies whenever it says something that might tend to embarrass the Church ... even if the article was written by an Elder of the 70 ... because we never edit anything that goes into a publication for all our members ... so we can cover our butts whenever we deem it necessary.

It appears that some are trying to discount the "priesthood power" described in the article and the belief by mormons that made them special. Here is another description of the "power", "even unto eternity" claimed by this antiChristian sect.

Thomas Monson Claiming there is "nothing as special in this world.

Discuss the issues all you want, but do not make it personal.

Yeah, Jesus, King of kings, God's son, second person of the trinity, eternal and glorious, and your average 12-year old kid - yeah that's pretty much the same.

"The Ensign is a periodical not a teaching manual."

Then why is it used for Home TEACHING?

...the presidential campaign of Mormon Church founder Joseph Smith in 1844: “Challenging Democrat James Polk and Whig Henry Clay, Smith prophesied that if the U.S. Congress did not accede to his demands that ‘they shall be broken up as a government and God shall damn them.’

Smith viewed capturing the presidency as part of the mission of the church.
