Given the depth and breadth of the cumulative circumstantial and direct physical evidence related to the timing of the Mormon movement, the character and motive of Joseph Smith, the manner in which Smith claimed to find and translate the Book of Mormon, the errant and peculiar characteristics of the Book of Mormon and the true and contradictory translation of the Book of Abraham, there is more than enough reason to conclude that Joseph Smith was a fraud and that the Book of Mormon is a work of fiction.

Fire a mormon. They have a meeting and vote to boycott your business.

I've been in a management position basically everywhere I've worked in my adult life. We've fired Mormon's and nothing like you describe ever came of it. I can only think of a couple we've let go because most were very hard workers and ended up moving on to bigger and better things. I have a Mormon friend who was routinely fired from jobs because he always had a terrible absentee/tardiness problem. The Mormon church never rallied around him. He simply had to learn not to be a crappy employee and he's seemed to learn from his mistakes.

Perhaps what you describe is true in a majority Mormon area, but it's certainly not the experience most people have with them nationwide.

My overall experience with Mormons is very positive and I am not afraid to elect one President - nor do I have any great fear of electing a Hindu, Buddhist, etc. My primary criteria for candidates is do they hold the conservative positions I care about and are they electable. I DO have a tremendous problem with the fact that Willard is not a conservative, which is why I am extremely disappointed that he is our nominee.

Because most Hindus are honest enough to admit they are Hindus. They do NOT pretend to be Christians.

Mormons, on the other hand, pretend to be Christians. As you point out, Willard is a chameleon.

Why choose a Mormon as Republican candidate in the first place?

I'm not a Romney fan by any means, but his religion has little if anything to do with his abilities to lead this country. You sound a little like the protestants who were worried that the Pope would be in the white house if Kennedy were to be elected....pathetic

Look. These Mormon people believe that in the 1800’s someone found some things written on gold that had been hidden in the US since pre BC times, then and “angel” stole them or something, but they made a transcript, which included lots of text taken from the King James version of the Bible....

And you’d let a Bishop in the church of these guys run the country?

Catholics believe that 2000 years ago a carpenters kid claimed he was God and turned water into wine and raised a dead guy back to life. When he was executed by the Romans for being a troublemaker, everyone who ever existed had everything bad that he/she had done forgiven. They now believe that a priest can change water and wine into his actual body and blood.

religion is based on faith, I am a Catholic who actually believes that stuff....he is a morman that believes what has been taught to him.....O.K.

Not OK. Mormons believe in something that is an obvious forgery. Do you also believe Obama’s birth certificate wasn’t forged.

obvious is in the eye of the beholder. I do believe that the birth certificate is a forgery, in fact I've heard that it has been declared so. I'm not certain what a BC has to do with his being a mormon. The birth certificate problem should disqualify him from being president....the fact that he is a Mormon should not.

You are right Longbow.
I would not vote for a socialist even if they called their selves Christian and even if i thought they were actually Christian which i would,nt.

Also if Obama was a freedom loving capitalist instead of a freedom hating socialist i would have voted for him and would again even though he is probably an illegal alien.

So i will vote for Romney if he is the candidate.

How can people have a candidate for the US Presidency that believes all this stuff, and is a Bishop in their church?

How can any one who really believes in God belong to any religion?
