One of the greatest ways for parents to thwart the progressive takeover is to homeschool their children. The children will grow up as independent thinkers and far more likely than not to be immunized by the liberal groupthink. They will find it easier to reject progressive propaganda. They will probably do better than their age peers should they decide to attend an institution of higher learning.
This was our experience and that of our daughter’s homeschooled friends.
IIRC, the right of parents to control the education of their children is one of the non-negotiable political stances of Catholics according to the pope.
It didn't seem like it would be that important, to me, but if the HSLDA spokesman says it is, he's probably right.

Great news, but not at all surprising. The Church’s argument is not a particularly Catholic one. It is based on the simple, natural law principle that parents are a child’s primary educators.
Our current schooling system fundamentally violates this principle.
