Dem: Let's Have a Hearing on Radicalization of Christians
Creative Minority Report ^ | 6/25/12 | Matt Archbold

Because Christians are just as likely to blow buildings up and kill thousands of non-Christians, a Democratic congressman says he's cool with investigating the radicalization of Muslims as long as we also investigate Christians.

Texas Congressman Al Green (D) says he wouldn’t mind Rep. Peter King (R-NY) repeatedly calling hearings on “radical Islam” if he would also conduct a “hearing on the radicalization of Christians.”

During a Wednesday House Homeland Security Committee hearing on “The Radicalization of Muslim-Americans,” Green wondered why the chairman had only focused on one religion.

“If you agree that radicalization exists within all religions to some extent, would you kindly extend a hand into the air,” Green, who is the grandson of a Christian minister, asked the witnesses testifying before the committee. He noted that “all the hands are raised.”

“I don’t think that most people oppose hearings on radicalization,” the congressman explained. “I do not, not — N-O-T — oppose hearings on radicalization. I do oppose hearings that don’t focus on the entirety of radicalization. And if you agree that we have Christians, as has been mentioned by more than one member, Christians who become radicalized, they become part of Islam and they become radicalized as is being said, why not have a hearing on the radicalization of Christians?”

This kind of equivalence rises easily to the level of stupidity on its face because Christians aren't strapping bombs to themselves or hijacking planes.

Just for a brief rundown, here's Robert Spencer at Pajamas Media:

I’d like to take this vacuous pimp’s challenge.

Let’s start by comparing the life of Christ with the life of Mohammed.

Then, let’s move on to the things they taught.

The most radical Christians I know are Amish and Mennonites, who would rather suffer themselves and their families to be killed without offering any resistance than to send an unregenerate soul to hell by defending themselves.

So, yeah, let’s do it.

Christians might not be strapping on bombs, but ... Don’t forget Joan of Arc being burning at the atake for dressing like a man.

“Not God bless America, God d**n America!”

“America, your chickens are comin’ home to roost!”

"...would you kindly extend a hand into the air,”

Hey Congressman Green, would that be in a Nazi salute to "the won?" Sorry, I won't play along with your ridiculous fascist secular tactics. Christians are not a problem, Buddhists are not a problem, Jews are not a problem, Hindus are not a problem. Who is running around shooting, bombing, kidnapping? Um, that would be radical Islam for $1000 Mr. Green.

"I do oppose hearings that don’t focus on the entirety of..."

Focus on the entirety of? Really? Mr. Green, do you realize how stupid that makes you sound? Focus on the entirety isn't a focus. These are our so-called "leaders?"

Green wondered why the chairman had only focused on one religion.

Really? Maybe because people of Hindu faith do not go out and blow up innocent women and children around the world on a daily basis. Come to think of it, neither do Jews, Christians, Mormons, Scientologists, Pagans or Wickens.

Some of those religious groups get pretty "radical," you ignorant Jacka$$. But they do not pose a clear and present national security risk as an organization with a mission statement that includes the indescriminant murder of innocent Americans.

Ah, but that is not how it works with democrats. They are liars, their souls are so twisted into evil’s pretzels that they demand a comparison of the mooselimb demon with the democrat definition of Christians ... you know, the specious definition which has Christians ignoring the rights of sexual degenerates to practice their degeneracy in public, and Christians opposing the teaching of sexual degeneracy in public school, and Christians expecting folks to learn self sufficiency rather than be slugs of depenedency politics, and so on. You would be required to debate those specious definitions of Christian held int he dead-soul leftist minds of typical democrats. And make no mistake, these same dead souls will call as witnesses their many sycophants in the World Council of Churches, and faux Catholics like Chris Matthews and Barry Lynd. They might even have volunteer witnesses from the Warrens and Osteens among us.

This Green guy doesn't seem very bright to me. I hope he doesn't "wonder" too hard. He might hurt something.

I actually AGREE with the good Congressman.

Christianity is indeed radical! What other religion is based on unconditional LOVE, of Almighty God first, and then our fellow man? That idea is nutso persecutable RADICAL! (As was Jesus Christ Himself.)

So let’s by all means have a revival meeting... oops, I mean a Congressional hearing, right on the floor of the House of Representatives! Testimony after moving testimony showing how the radical love of Jesus Christ has changed lives!

Paid for by taxpayer dollars and broadcast on C-SPAN! (That ought to make some leftist heads explode.)

Well, Whoopi Goldberg has said that Timothy McVeigh was a Christian terrorist.

And Rosie O’Donnell has stated that radical Christianity is as big a threat to America as radical Islam.

When such intellectual minds as Whoopi and Rosie have weighed in on something, that settles it for me! (sarcasm)

Congressman, give me a call when the Knights Templar are chanting "Deus Vult!" in St. Peter's Square to the Pope's call to retake the Holy Land with blood and steel.

re: “If you agree that radicalization exists within all religions to some extent, would you kindly extend a hand into the air,” Green, who is the grandson of a Christian minister, asked the witnesses testifying before the committee. He noted that “all the hands are raised.”

This is an especially idiotic question in light of WHO is flying planes into buildings, blowing themselves up in public places, taking over embassies, cutting people’s heads off.

This question by the “good” senator would be like asking after the Pearl Harbor attack, “If you agree that warlike tendencies exists within all nations to some extent, would you kindly extend a hand into the air.” Then, “we should not be focusing on just one or two nations unfairly - No, I am not against investigating possible hostile acts by the Japanese, but I am saying we must investigate ALL nations alike for hostile intent.”

As Bugs Bunny would say, “What a Maroon!”
