Hallelujah!
The Arab Muzzies today claim their lineage from the Yishamel (aka Ismael, Ishmaelites) who is the son of Avraham (aka Abraham) and the half brother of Yitzchak (aka Isaac).
The descendants of Esav (aka Esau) let the area known as Edom and traveled to the land of Chittim according to the Sefer HaYasher (aka Book of the Upright, Book of Jasher).
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sefer_haYashar_%28midrash%29
Where is the land of Chittim? Today it is known as Rome. It’s not Cyprus as is thought to be.
What color was synonymous with the ancient Roman Empire. Red. The Catholic Church? Red. What color is associated with the collectivist movement of the 20th century (aka Communism, Fascism, Nazism, et al)? Red. What does the word, “Edom” mean in Hebrew? Red. What color was Esav (aka Esau) defined as? Red. What does the Prophet Isaiah say was he dressed in? “Wherefore art thou red in thine apparel,...”
What did Esav want to do Yaakov (aka Jacob)? Murder him.
How many Jews did ancient Rome murder? Many. How many Jews were murdered by the Church by way of the Crusades? Many. And the persecution of Jews by the Church? Many. How many people did the collectivist movement murder during the 20th century. About 250 million. How about the unborn which still goes on today? Some say up to a billion.
Who was one of the grandsons of Esav? Amalek. Who attacked and continues to attack Jews right leaving Sinai? Amalek. Which group of collectivists of the 20th century are associated with Amalek? The Nazis. Which character in the story Esther is descended from Amalek? Haman. How many of his sons were hung at the gallows? 10. How many close associates of Hitler’s were hung on the holiday of Purim after the Nuremberg trials had concluded? 10.
How many Nazis did the Church help flee Europe? According to Sam Donaldson about 60,000 via the Rat Line.

This does not say He will return to the same spot, as many presume. What the two white-garbed ones say is is that He will come in like manner out of The heaven; that is, in like manner He will return alone; but into Edom; and will come from there alone (Brides do not fight their Husband's bloody battles); and meet the Bride descending to Olivet, the band of Overcomers, at the point from whence he left them; and from take them victoriously into the Mount of Zion, through the Eastern Gate, to rule the Earth with His Consort, and through His Viceroy, David.
Is this not so, Pastor Bill?
Baruch haShem!
...if one accepts that the confrontation between Yaakov and Esav’s angel is a metaphor for Jewish history, then it seems that Jewish history has played out exactly as the story has foretold. Throughout our exile, the nations of the Christian world (Edom) have sent “messengers” (i.e., their leaders and governments) in an effort to prevail against us and destroy the Jewish people. And we have suffered terribly. But we have endured.
In the 20th century, it seems, these persecutions culminated in the Holocaust - the greatest blow to the Jewish people, in terms of loss of life and the magnitude of the suffering, in our history. Yet, we survived and, a mere three years after the end of World War II, successfully fought - against all odds - to establish a sovereign nation in Eretz Yisroel.
It was at this point that the “emissaries” of the Christian world finally acknowledged that they could not prevail - that the Jewish people would not vanish - and thereby recognized us as “Israel.” No longer were we simply the Jewish people in the eyes of the world, but, going forward, we were to be recognized as the nation of “Israel.” In other words, if one accepts the metaphor, then one could conclude that the name “Israel” given to Yaakov by Esav’s angel is reflected historically in the recognition by the UN (controlled at that time by the Christian world) of the new country of Israel.
Equally consistent with the parable, with the formation of the State of Israel, we have witnessed an historical transformation of the relationship between the Jewish people and the Christian world so that, whereas formerly that relationship was marked for centuries by persecution and antipathy, the Christian world has now reconciled with the Jewish people, and at least as far as their governments are concerned, now generally display a highly favorable and friendly approach to the Jewish people and State of Israel. This outcome was also predicted by the Torah - after Yaakov’s name is changed to Israel, Esav reconciles (realizing that he cannot prevail against Yaakov)...
When Yaakov met with Esav, after splitting up his family on different paths (for fear of destruction at the hand of Esav) and fighting with Esav’s angel (Yaakov was frightened of possibly becoming like Esav), their meeting was positive and cordial as we see today with the way Christians and Jews get along.
But keep in mind that Esav’s grandson, Amalek, is still out there causing problems for Jews and Israel from within the Christian and Islamic cultures with the rise of anti-Semitism across the world.
Today the story of Esther has been playing out in modern times with the global rise of anti-Semitism (Haman/Amalek/Muslim Brotherhood) and the women’s movement (Esther). Can’t wait to see how it plays itself out to the end.
As a side note I was reading something about the prophecy given by Yirmayahu (Jeremiah), Daniel, and Yehezkel (Ezekiel) who all speak of a time when Jews will be called by God’s name. Yirmayahu 14:9 says, “You God are in the midst of us, and we are called by your name.”
The word, “Jew” comes from the word “Yehuda” (aka Judah, tribe of Judah) which contains the name of God in Hebrew if you remove the Dalet. And that Dalet comes from the word Hebrew word, “hodah” which means to give thanks to God.
Thank you Pastor. Threads like this are what inspires me to hit the scriptures and always have my eyes opened to passages I have missed before. I always print out the lesson so as to have it beside me as I go through the listed scriptures, underlining as I go. Isn’t it wonderful that the Lord made the Bible in a way that no matter how many times you read it, something new is born out of it into your mind.
In regards to the story of Esther where does it take place?
Susa, Persia.
What country are the western powers concerned with right now.?
Iran (aka Persia). Surprise, surprise!
“It was at this point that the emissaries of the Christian world finally acknowledged that they could not prevail - that the Jewish people would not vanish - and thereby recognized us as Israel. No longer were we simply the Jewish people in the eyes of the world, but, going forward, we were to be recognized as the nation of Israel. “
While not disagreeing with what you have written, it is also worth knowing that God worked through the “Christian nations” to solve the Jewish homeland problem after WWII and through one man in particular, a President of the United States, Harry Truman, to plan with the Jewish people to form a new nation and for the USA to formally recognize it immediately, help sustain it, arm it and maintain an ongoing friendship with Israel.
Truman was a Democrat, but as Democrats go (wrong on many issues), was a really decent guy. I’d pick him over Zero or RINOmney.
In regards to keep a close eye on the descendants of Amalek/Haman...

What color was synonymous with the ancient Roman Empire. Red. The Catholic Church? Red.
Okay, so exactly how is red associated with the Roman Empire? Purple was the color of authority, wealth, and power in Rome, not red. Senators wore purple-trimmed togas. The Emperor wore a toga that was entirely purple. Red? Well, scarlet, close to red, was the second most expensive dye in the ancient world, so it was associated with wealth and power also, among Jews, Romans, and everyone else (cf Exodus 39:1).
Red, "synonymous" with the Catholic Church? Really? Dave Hunt says that purple and scarlet are synonymous with the Catholic Church. He's wrong, too.
Here's the Papal flag. I don't see much red on it, just a thin red rope binding the two keys together. Most of it is silver and gold:
How many Nazis did the Church help flee Europe? According to Sam Donaldson about 60,000 via the Rat Line.
Yes, and we should all believe everything Sam Donaldson, that paragon of conservative historical wisdom and objectivity, says, right? Does Dan Rather agree with him? And where is Keith Olbermann in all of this? /s
I have no idea how many Nazis "escaped" via the "ratline". I strongly doubt there were ever *60,000* Nazis who could have been legitimately tried for war crimes but who escaped justice. Six thousand, perhaps.
The "ratline" was mostly run by one man, an Austrian bishop named Alois Hudal, who was definitely a Nazi sympathizer. When the Pope found out about it, Hudal's operation was shut down and he was disciplined.
Oh, and about that Pope? According to former Israeli consul to Italy Pinchas Lapide*, Pius XII saved 860,000 Jews from the Nazis. The lie that Pius XII "did nothing" or "was silent," or the worse lie that he was in league with the Nazis (Hitler wanted to kill him!) is the residue of a KGB disinformation operation. Should we regard the trash that the KGB put out during the Cold War as gospel truth, as much as anything Sam Donaldson says?
We Catholics are frequently accused of calling any disagreement with Catholicism "bigotry". That's wrong; we don't do that. But I have no compunction at all about calling this garbage "bigotry," because that's what it is.
Only the Church stood squarely across the path of Hitler's campaign for suppressing truth. I never had any special interest in the Church before, but now I feel a great affection and admiration because the Church alone has had the courage and persistence to stand for intellectual truth and moral freedom. I am forced thus to confess that what I once despised I now praise unreservedly. -- Albert Einstein, quoted in Time magazine, 12/23/1940

I think we are seeing Amalek in action these days. Amalek so hates Jews that he is willing to abandon the Christianity (Esau/Edom) that has reconciled to the existence of Israel. Thus we see secularism (paganism) and Jew-hate rising hand-in-hand.
It is certainly on the rise. There is also tremendous love for the Jewish people and nation by evangelical Christians.
With what entity did the angel, who had a message for Daniel, contend with? (ultimately requiring Michael the ark angel’s help and it still took 40 days to reach Daniel)
That’s right, the Demonic “prince of Persia”!
By the way, it goes to show you just how extensive and far reaching the battles between light and darkness are occuring! Things are very wild and wooley across the whole of the quantum universe!
Within Jewish writings have always tied Edom, ancient Rome, the Catholic Church, and Christianity to Esav.
Like I said before the descendants of Esav and Yaakov now get along. Now it is a matter dealing with Esav’s grandson, Amalek, that we need to be concerned with now.
Wow! An amazing non-coincidence!
