A piece I wrote last weekend on Christian businesses prompted a snarling response from a reader who clearly was no follower of the Son of God. “Hail Satan!” it closed.
I thought nothing of the comment, chalking it up to the hostility Christians sometimes face from non-believers. That is, until I saw the news reports of the horrific shootings today at a suburban Denver movie theater.
The suspected triggerman, 24-year-old James Holmes, will be described variously as “troubled” or “unstable” or “detached from reality.” But I am convinced that the young killer was operating under satanic influence.
Of course, to attribute today’s murder spree in the Rock Mountain State to the supernatural machinations of the evil one is to invite ridicule from those who refuse believe there are demonic forces at work in this fallen world of ours.
But the Scripture warns us that “we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.”
The secularists that control much of our society – from academia to media to government – will attribute Holmes’ mass murder to causes that fit their world view.
Indeed, already the liberal Boston Globe has posted an article suggesting that stronger gun laws would have prevented the carnage.
Well, the writer obviously hasn’t visited Switzerland – as I have – where guns may be found in practically every home, but where there is no gun-related violence to speak of.
The Swiss disprove the fiction that guns cause murder. It’s twisted individuals, with no respect for life, no fear of God, that cause murder.
That’s not to suggest that the 24-year-old was the member of some satanic cult, like something out of “Rosemary’s Baby.” In fact, almost no one who commits murder – or molests children or sells drugs or prostitutes women – is a knowing Satan worshipper.
And that’s exactly how our adversary, the devil, wants it.
He walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. He exerts his ungodly influence upon lost souls, like young man Holmes, without them ever being the wiser.
Was the reader James Holmes? or is the reader story completely unrelated?
I’ll bet he read all the Harry Potter books, too!

It's referenced as the "Republic of Boulder" -- much like UC California is referenced as the "Republic of Berkeley" -- as Boulder competes with places like Berkeley and Santa Cruz, CA for being the most looney leftist/New Age communities in the West.
Warren Hern operates a late-term abortion clinic out of Boulder -- and has written a textbook on abortion. The primary Boulder newspaper has regularly for the last 20 years had more ads for New Age, the occult, and cults than any mainstream Christian churches.
It's also been reported that Holmes' family is linked to a Presbyterian church in the San Diego area; and it wouldn't surprise me if it's a Pres-USA denomination church. That denomination has long used offering plate $ to pay for abortions for its church workers as part of its insurance plan.

Last night’s mass murder in a Colorado theater, without a doubt, is a horrific and unspeakable tragedy. However, as much as I grieve for the victims, their families, I refuse to blame an inanimate object – guns – rather than the actual lawbreaker…James Holmes. Liberals live to shamelessly politicize such tragedies – case and point, immediately blaming the Tea Party – hoping our Second Amendment rights will be stripped away by whipping public anger into a vacuum of mass hysteria. These same constitutional terrorists, who can’t keep drugs off the streets, let alone out of our schools, would leave us at the mercy of thugs and lowlife opportunists, not to mention vulnerable to government tyranny; Thomas Jefferson’s most profound reason for defending our right to bear arms. In essence, gun control is the final lynch pin in the left’s ultimate goal of uncontested subjugation.
The real tragedy in this endless debate is that the media never reports how times firearms save lives, feed families, foil crimes, and guard freedom around the globe. I could not imagine lying awake at night, knowing my family was at the mercy of some deranged intruder while I was powerless to protect them. I’m an American, a patriot, a law abiding citizen, and there’s a reason why I keep a Glock 20/10mm beside my bed at night: I refuse to be a statistic. And just in case you want one, over 50 million gun owners did not commit a crime last night. You do the math.

The truth of whether or not the Christian Diarist’s assumptions about the person who did the shooting in Denver are correct, or whether or not the man IS merely deranged, nuts, crazy is in G-d’s hands and known for sure only to Him.
That is not to say that the evil forces the Christian Diarist mentions don’t exist, but only to say no one should feel obliged to accept the Christian Diarist’s opinion of the shooter, to accept belief in those forces.
There are evil forces. There are also people who are just nuts, by a devolutionary process in their own thinking and behavior, without any outside force pulling them into it.
I prayer with the shield of faith from these fiery darts of the enemy.

Victoria Jones of TRN said this afternoon that when the mother was contacted by police, her reaction was, “it would be him”. This miscreant was out of control before now and it should have been stopped earlier.

the death penalty works for both types. They never commit any type crime again. It should be swift in it’s admission too
It sure looks and feels like the dark side is dancing more freely than usual in the US.
The public cussing, menacing rage, sexual perversion, racism, abuse of citizens by those with police and government power, the corruption, the disasters, the economic and social fear, politically correct propaganda/lies, amoral materialism, child abuse, and the pop culture is not even trying to hide Satanic symbology anymore...it’s more spooky than usual.
It’s more mainstream and prevelant than usual. It’s being packaged and sold loud and proud to the public.
It appears that Satan is a democrat...
