The First Mormon President? Does Faith Matter? [Yes, indeed!!! Lest we have a false god leading USA]

...Romney keeps his focus simple: fix the economy. But others are fixated on something else: his faith.

Yet Mormons call themselves Christians, which raises eyebrows, especially within evangelical circles.

Shawn McCraney is a former Mormon who now hosts a show called, 'Heart of the Matter," where he witnesses to Mormons in Salt Lake City.

"What happened was I came to realize that there was nothing I could do to get myself right before God -- where with Mormonism...it's you have to do it," he explained. "He gives you the opportunity, but it's up to you to perform, and I couldn't perform."

...any controversy over a Mormon president may...center on...whether Romney would put loyalty to the Mormon Church ahead of anything else.

Former Mormon and author Michael Moody has written the book, Mitt, Set Our People Free...

"When I was a little boy, the Mormon prophet was a more important man than the president of the United States," Moody told CBN News.

"Mitt Romney has knelt in the Mormon temples," he noted. "He has taken an oath of consecration. He has taken an oath of sacrifice. He has said that he will sacrifice everything that he is, and give all of his talents, and everything that he has and is to the Mormon Church."

"If Mitt Romney gets in the White House, it's going to be a sign to all of the Mormon people that they're on the right path, that this is the truth, and it's going to help perpetuate their missionary program. It's going to put the Mormon Church in a more powerful position..."

And I will explain why.

It’s by the grace of God, and solely by His grace, that my blind eyes were opened, and that I was set free. Nothing I did or thought had anything to do with His saving me and helping me to trust in the blood of Jesus for my salvation. (Eph. 2).

Romans 3 tells us that none are righteous, not one. All have turned away, there is no one who does good.

I believe that Mr. Romney is not lost beyond the capabilities of His grace, which is powerful to save.

I am not afraid of Mormonism, because God IS on the throne, and He is SO much greater than Mormonism. Mormons will be judged by God, and it will be a sad day, and I am deeply in sorrow for them, because I know some of them personally. And yet, I do not think they have the powers that you are giving them. I still think God is more powerful, and that those to whom a Mormon comes will not have a hair on his head damaged if God did not will it.

My parents did not vote for Jimmy Carter, even though he claimed to be an evangelical Christian. He was a bad president. There are few examples of the truly born-again believer existing in the White House. We are commanded to pray for all of our leaders. If Mr. Romney wins, I hope that you will pray for his soul.

Jesus is God. There is no spiritual risk to Jesus going anywhere or inviting anyone into a dwelling place. I am not God. I do incur risk, as stated in 2 John, of losing reward, of becoming a partner in supporting the soul destroying evil of a teacher of antichrist doctrine. If you feel above all that, and are secure in your own mind that you are exempt from apostolic teaching, knock yourself out.

As for me, each of us will answer to God on our own. On that amazing day when I come before him, I will stand by grace in the forgiveness of sins he provided for me on the cross, and not in any rules I did or didn’t keep. But as I love him, and wish more than anything to please him, I do not want to break clear apostolic teaching and put myself at risk. He gives us such warnings for our own good, because he loves us. Why would I defy such love? But you do as you wish.
