American Life League president posts open letter to Cardinal Dolan about Al Smith dinner invitation

The valiant Judie Brown, founder of the American Life League and America's foremost and uncompromising champion of life, has posted an open letter to His Eminence Timothy, Cardinal Dolan.

Once again, the American Episcopacy has put institutional interests ahead of what is moral and good. We have no interest in their views on the Farm Bill, trade policies or continuing budget resolutions. We do, however, expect them to speak with clarity and consistency on the great moral issues of our day. It seems Cardinal Dolan, like so many before him, would rather be a political player than a moral force for the good and true.

We salute Mrs. Brown for speaking forthrightly. We strongly agree with her that Cardinal Dolan's invitation sends, at best, mixed signals. In the face of Obama's assaults on the Church and her teachings, our bishops should be sharing only one message — that it is morally objectionable for any Catholic to vote for those whose policies are intrinsically evil and advance the culture of death.

Straddling a fence can be hard on the crotch and it’s time the Cardinal got off that fence and played it straight with his flock.

Catholics are either for or against Obama, There can be no compromise.

Thank you Ms. Brown for standing up for what is right. Unfortunately, the Cardinal and Catholic Clergy are not alone when it comes to putting the bottom line and almighty dollar ahead of religion. It has been my experience that almost all churches are hypocritical. It is up to the faithful to set them straight.

Yeah...that’s it. Run from the fight. Jesus dined with sinners and took quite a bit of heat for it as well. And remember, Cardianl Dolan is in the midst of a lawsuit against the Pretender in Chief. He’s a big boy and will handle himself fine. In fact, I think Pres. Obama’s the one who should be rethinking his acceptance of the invitation.

.
The sinners he dined with all understood they were sinners. Most of them were just petty criminals and tax collectors. None of them seem to be murderers, child molesters and I doubt there were homosexuals among them.

Also consider who He took the heat from — not from the general populace but from a bunch of hypocrites who wanted to kill Him.

Yeah...that’s it. Run from the fight.

That's exactly what Dolan is doing by inviting BOTH of these candidates to the Al Smith Dinner.

Ms. Brown is right. It's one thing to "dine with sinners," but you can be damn sure that Jesus Christ didn't dine with any Pharisees or Sadducees who had openly rejected him.

The lady has more wisdom than the Cardinal. What she says is so plainly true that one wonders if the Cardinal is kin to Joe Biden.

Hey ahole! - no one's running from any fight but there's an old saying -

"Lie down with dogs, get up with fleas".

If 0bama hadn't openly attacked CHRISTIANS in general, and the Catholic Church in particular, Dolan would be [quietly] backing Hussein just like '08, so don't pretend that inviting him is an attempt to convert him. You don't invite the devil to your parties!
