Apparently Lynch's homosexual union was tolerated as long as he quiet but with the writing of a book his having a "husband" for 14 years cannot be tolerated any longer...or can it? ,...14 years!

He was not forced into celibacy. He chose it. No one forces you to be an RC priest.

This whole thing turns my stomach - but the one thing I agree with him on is that celibacy teachings may be largely responsible for the rampant homosexuality and child abuse. I suspect if priests were allowed (not encouraged, but allowed) to marry, much of this might be avoided. After all, Scripture says that it’s better to marry than to burn.

Ok, I am not Catholic.
However, I do not get the “forced” into celibacy thing this guy is claiming.
No one is forced into celibacy, it is a choice freely given when you enter Catholic ministry as a priest.
You do not wish to be celibate, don’t enter the ministry, its really simple.

Celibacy leads to abuse? LOL! So instead of sneaking out on the Church and having a nice, quiet hetero fling, celibacy leads one to go abuse children of the same sex.

Yup. Makes sense to me.

If celibacy was too much for him, he was in the wrong vocation.

Aside from that, in Catholic teaching, homosexuals are called to live chaste lives. He's clearly not.

On top of that he's a "married" priest which is only acceptable if a priest has come from a Christian sect that accepts married clergy like Episcopalians.

Homosexuality is the problem here, not the vow of celibacy.

If celibacy is the problem, then why do non-Catholic clergy numbers exceed those of the priesthood????

Too often, problem teachers are allowed to leave quietly. That can mean future abuse for another student and another school district.

“They might deal with it internally, suspending the person or having the person move on. So their license is never investigated,” says Charol Shakeshaft, a leading expert in teacher sex abuse who heads the educational leadership department at Virginia Commonwealth University.

It’s a dynamic so common it has its own nicknames—“passing the trash” or the “mobile molester.”

Laws in several states require that even an allegation of sexual misconduct be reported to the state departments that oversee teacher licenses. But there’s no consistent enforcement, so such laws are easy to ignore.

School officials fear public embarrassment as much as the perpetrators do, Shakeshaft says. They want to avoid the fallout from going up against a popular teacher. They also don’t want to get sued by teachers or victims, and they don’t want to face a challenge from a strong union.

This is not a “marriage” as we are led to believe. This “marriage” taken to its logical consequence will mean the end of the human race in one generation. If it is good for “them,” it is good for “everyone.” Ha Ha, what a joke, a deadly and pernicious joke.

There is no such thing a ‘forced celibacy’ in the Catholic Church. Priesthood is completely voluntary. Anyone who studies to become a priest knows full well what the teaching is regarding priestly celibacy, LONG before ordination. If you don’t want to be celibate, no problem; don’t become a priest.

1.) This guy is British, not American.

2.) His argument that celibacy causes sex abuse is ludicrous. Celibate men do not abuse children. Non-celibate homosexual hypocrites in collars abuse children.

3.) Homosexual attractions apparently have a lot to do with sex abuse considering 80% of the priestly abuse cases are homosexual in nature.

The solution? Ban those with homosexual attractions from the priesthood and any other job having close contact with children. Of course, the Vatican did that in 1961, but many of the bishops in the English-speaking world paid no heed to the mandate. There will be hell to pay for them. Literally.

Well he got this part right “Lynch shared in an interview for SiriusXM radio that he believes celibacy is a special gift that only a select few receive”I have worked with many priests ,so much so that I can't remember them all.I never worked on air that it came out they were an abuser.I do know at least 17 of the list from our local diocese that were accused. When I say know I worked with them on projects..My latest one was on mandatory leave along with others for a look up of past stuff.People loved him. They threw the cuffs on him a few weeks ago.I can say only one fooled me for 4 years as he studied to become a priest.I was at the low end of spiritual directing him.No-one was ever allowed to be alone with my children.Clean ups stink.Holy men and woman are few so watch your hearts.
