“Many are from their SCRIPTUREs.

Surely they believe what their Prophet had translated; right?”

I have no idea. I have little or no knowledge of that religion.

Until Romney says, “I hate blacks. They are slow, lazy and stupid,” or something similar then I am not going to condemn him as being racist even though he probably is as are many on FR. :-)

Additionally, many so-called religious people are mere hypocrites who don’t follow the teachings of their religions 100%. If everyone followed all of their religions to-the-letter then this would be a very sad planet because at least one of them of which I know would kill everyone else. :-)

“But they DO have links/references; so if the years are really that important, at least someone has a place to start.

I’ve challenged MORMONs on these threads to come up with anything later than these statements to show progression of MORMON thinking; but so far; I’ve read nothing along those lines other than OD2.”

Again, until Romney says something detrimental about blacks I am not giong to condemn him and I don’t even like him. I was one of the “Never Romney” people. No one I have ever met followed their religious teachings to-the-letter. That is why I “freelance”. :-)

“It kinda represents all of us who were NOT born into a ‘religious’ home; that had to come to a decision on our own.”

I was raised in a strict Catholic environment. Even after adulthood priests would talk to me as if I were still a 2nd grader. I got tired of them talking down to me as if they were up on a pedestal and being too condescending.

I simply live my life with very strict legal, moral and ethical standards which I will not violate for anything or anyone. That’s my story and I’m stickin’ to it.

Again, until Romney says something detrimental about blacks...

Well; I can almost guarantee that it WILL come up between now and the election.

THEN we'll see whether he stays true to his religion or his politics...

That's very good!

Just don't miss the important part:

John 6:28-29

Then they asked him, “What must we do to do the works God requires?”

Jesus answered, “The work of God is this: to believe in the one he has sent.”

1 John 3:21-24

Dear friends, if our hearts do not condemn us, we have confidence before God and receive from him anything we ask, because we keep his commands and do what pleases him. And this is his command: to believe in the name of his Son, Jesus Christ, and to love one another as he commanded us. The one who keeps God’s commands lives in him, and he in them. And this is how we know that he lives in us: We know it by the Spirit he gave us.

He had no beauty or majesty to attract us to him,
nothing in his appearance that we should desire him.
