Osteen is a heretic and a snake-oil salesman.

Other than that, he’s dumber than a bucket of rocks.

2 Things.

1. If you are taling with Soledad O’Brien, you know there will be “Gotcha” questions.

2. While I believe Osteen preaches a fundamentally sound gospel, he is wise not to give answers which only aid his enemies.

Christians see both sides of the fence when it comes to sin now?

Sin is debatable as long as we are lifting spirits?

First Church of Self-Esteem?

“Word of Faith” movement has always been corrupt, vacuous and bankrupt

For this guy, yes. “Stayed in his lane”, indeed.

You have got to be kidding.

Don’t know anything about Osteen and don’t care. O’Brian on the other hand doesn’t have a clue. Churches are filled with sinners.

I would agree....he’s just one step away from the regular TV minister crowd of the 1980s. He might not be spending weekends in Vegas or driving in a Porsche, but he still has some issues.

When asked if he thought he had an important voice to lend to the public debate about homosexuality, Osteen answered, “I think part of my, if you want to call it success, I’ve stayed in my lane and my lane is lifting people’s spirits and there are issues that good, Bible-believing people see on both sides of the fence”....

....Osteen’s performance earned him the ire of Albert Mohler Jr., president of Southern Baptist Seminary in Louisville, Kentucky, who wrote that while O’Brien had “established the perfect platform for Osteen to respond with the gospel of Jesus Christ,” Osteen “did not.”

How to determine when Joel Osteen is speaking heresy:

Osteen lives every bit as opulent a lifestyle as any of the Benny Hins of the industry.

And then Osteen went back to his church and apologized for being a weakling.

Well, duh! What else are we to do, but call sinners "sinners". That is what we are.

I mean, that is the opposite of uplifting, I would think.”

On the contrary ... a call to repentance can be very uplifting, particularly when one answers said call.

Let's talk about your support for socialism and abortion, Mizzz O'Brien. You shall not steal. You shall not murder.

He has made a ton of money selling that snake oil to his followers, too.

That would be lost on O`Brien.. To liberals there are no sinners... just victims.

“I always wonder when you say homosexuality is a sin and there’s a bunch of people who clearly are gay who are in your church,” she continued. “You’re calling them sinners. I mean, that is the opposite of uplifting, I would think.”

On Sunday, the church I attend is full of sinners (except for the infants). We're there because we know we're sinners and we need both the reminder of that fact, and the graces that come from attending.

What's wrong with that guy? Church attendance isn't supposed to be uplifting. It's supposed to be redeeming.
