It comes as a surprise to many when anti-Semitism is propagated by people and denominations operating under the banner of Christianity. The latest incident comes from a letter sent to the United States Congress by the head of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), Mark S. Hanson, and his liberal church cohorts telling the Congress to investigate Israel and consider halting military aid to them.
That letter was broadcast far and wide by the ELCA News Service, with the subtitle “ELCA, other churches call for investigation of military aid to Israel.” So make no mistake, this is a call by the ELCA, not just the act of the presiding bishop.
The letter has its foundation in anti-Semitism. One way this is apparent is when one considers that the US government gives military and/or financial aid to many countries which are, in fact, ruthlessly oppressive and violent. There are Muslim countries that brutalize Christian citizens, women, non-Muslims and homosexuals. Countries like Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Libya and Lebanon to name a few. Yet, where is the letter asking for an investigation into military aid or financial aid to these countries? Countries which HATE America. Countries which keep “Palestinians” in slums. Countries and governments which will kill you for having a Bible. The silence from the ELCA concerning these countries is deafening.
The constant call for Israel to give in to the demands of Muslims makes the their motivation obvious. That call is the call of Hamas. It is the call of the Muslim Brotherhood. It is the call of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America.

The “other churches” don’t seem to be publicizing this. The politicized, leftist ELCA mis-leadership is tooting its own horn with this bogus statement far and wide.
Liberal protestant “churches” have become political organizations like MoveOn or SEIU. They would do better by concentrating on the Gospel and the call to repentance. Repentance is the entrance to the Kingdom of God!!!!

I think we will have to redefine "evangelical" I do not think true evangelicals would do this. I am evangelical, but I totally disagree with them.
ELCA is ecumenical with Rome and a member of the world council of churches . They have forgotten why there was a reformation .They are works based and that means they are no longer protestants that makes them universal (catholic).
All the denominations that are against Israel have long departed grace alone, in faith in Christ’s saving work and not because of any merit .

In days gone by, I have made the case in front of elca congregations that the "evangelical lutheran church in america" is not evangelical (they have no mission to the unchurched worth mentioning), they are not Lutheran (called to common mission), and they are not "the church" (that is, all believers around the world and back across 2000 years).
But, they are in America. One out of four ain't very good.
The ELCA, nor any other Church is works-based. the Catholic Church and the Baptists, Lutheran etc. believe that it was only Christ's one-time sacrifice that saved us.
Now please go and take your religion-of-one erroneous, non-Christian beliefs elsewhere and read the Bible before posting nonsense
would that be the bible that the Catholic church wrote, edited, preserved, copied throughout the 1,600 years before the protestants revised, added to and took many books out of????
