A religious painting is expected to draw thousands to a special church service in Worcester, Mass. Tuesday evening.
It's a painting of the Virgin Mary, and some say it can perform miracles.
Its on display and bringing people together to see what some say is a miracle.
I prayed from the bottom of my heart. I felt that Jesus and St. Mary are listening to me, says Clara Elnerm.
The Elnemr family is one of many flocking to the St. George Orthodox Cathedral in Worcester Tuesday. It's all to see a religious painting, called the Hawaiian Iveron Icon of the Virgin Mary. Five years ago, a Hawaiian clergy member discovered his painting suddenly smelt of roses and was gushing myrrh, a type of oil.
It's a miraculous icon that's performed many miracles, says Walter Haddad.
The icon is touring the east coast this month, much to the delight of Haddad, the president of the east orthodox churches of central Massachusetts.
The oil is supposed to be miraculous oil. That's why everybody's coming to be anointed with her tears.
Clergy members say they don't worship the icon, rather they pray through it.
Some people don't realize that miracles like this do happen. They do happen around us all the time, says Milad Selim.

Can’t speak for “everyone”, but I have a HUGE problem with people bending down and kissing the Popes ring.
I kneel and pray before a statue of Mary, a priest, my bed, some candles, and lots of other things, but that doesn’t mean I’m worshiping any of those things.
(I might even pray before the scene of a horrible accident, or when visiting a concentration camp site, but I’m certainly not worshiping either of those things either.)
Sometimes, when I pray, I’ll ask a deceased relative to pray for me. Or I might ask a saint or the Blessed Virgin to pray for me to the Lord our God. But I’m not worshiping grandma or Mary.
Are you saying that Catholics don’t believe in Christ?
Are you saying that Catholics don’t believe in the Apostles, the first Bishops?
Are you saying that Christ did not istitute the Church on with his apostles as the first Bishops? And with Peter as the first Pope?
Please REALLY read your New Testament — especially the Gospels.
Sorry, “dude”, but the link I sent was the 10 Commandments I was taught growing up as a Catholic. With this link you sent, do they realize they tapped into a non-Catholic Bible? You better tell them.
You go ahead and venerate those graven images, I’ll worship the God through the Bible.
The Bible is all one needs.
“We worship a rational God. One who is not angered when his children venerate images of Jesus or his Mother or the angels, out of love and devotion.”
“Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;”
Well, according to God, He can be rational and jealous at the same time.
An icon like this drawing thousands is not a miracle
One thing about this icon and every other icon is that they depict Our Lord and Savior, the Virgin Mary, the Saints and events from their lives are all things that happened on Earth. There are rules and there is a process to iconography
