My open letter to my black Christian friends, written out of respect and solidarity, generated an extremely high number of email responses. They ranged from commendation to condemnation, with one email informing me that neither you nor I are going to alter prophecy, these things are foretold, we have to pray now GOD will get us out of here before masses get destroyed!
Espiritus offered a unique perspective: The Black, Youth and Latino vote is being used [by the Chinese] for the outcome [of the] 2012 election. . . . Under Komrad Obama, Americas military will be emasculated, our nuclear arsenal diminished, our economy utterly ruined and our population ultimately enslaved if the ObamaCare doomsayers are correct.
Quite a few black Christians wrote to express their appreciation. Shon was shocked at the compromise of [Christian] family members . . . . Very few made a stand, and I know there will be spiritual repercussions for ignoring and moving along with the endorsing of erroneous judgment on the Christians part.
Blackandright wrote, Your open letter is encouraging to me and many like me who found ourselves reasoning with the unreasonable over the past 2 years. Perhaps the reality of the next 4 years can pierce the dark places in our hearts and minds.
Jer claimed that the reasons for the black Democratic vote were racial idolatry, covetousness, theft, and loving the praises of men more than the praises of God. A lack of FAITH in Gods word.
Leslie echoed these sentiments, As a black American I could not vote for Obama, nor any demon-crat. The election was simple, Who is our provider, God or man? Another reader even claimed that, The Obama/Dem agenda is institutionalized envy, jealousy, covetousness, bitterness, theft. Obama says that we must covet the wealth of those who make over $250,000/year. Church says yeah.
On the exact opposite end of the spectrum, LL stated, You just dont get it that the policies that allow the rich to get richer and poor to get poorer are totally unChristian. Jesus was all about helping those who were less fortunate. Sorry, but the democrats hearts are in a more holy place.
Rocket opined, Its not hard for me to imagine why Blacks dont vote Republican. Your utter White disdain for them echoes 1960s era white bigotry. Black arent intelligent enough, arent Christian enough, arent anything enough to warrant anything but White contempt. Curitiba questioned why white evangelicals are still following Ralph Reed when he was exposed profiting off of Abramoffs forced abortion sweatshops and ripping off the tribes and churches? See a white person gets a pass.
White privilege? Most white people are against white privilege. Stephen asked, Why would anybody of any minority group stand with the GOP? They are hypocrites and mostly bigots that want minorities to be used as tokens advance their agenda, thats not in the best interest of any minority group. What happened to JC Watts, Allen Keys, Micheal Steele and Colin Powell? Where are they now? You see the GOP doesnt want any Man of Color to lead them.
Some readers were upset that my previous columns offered tepid support (if that) for Mitt Romney and that I was sympathetic to Christians who would not vote for him because of his Mormon faith. According to Ibay, this was an awful, terrible admission of moral and political turpitude.
Sgott claimed: You are aware that there is a difference between what happens in what the vast majority of us like to call the real world and your fantasy evangelical world, where in your fantasy you are some kind of flock leader or guider or great giver of wisdom? In the real world because of pinheads like you we re-elected the most pro-abortion president in the history of our country. . . . Are you mad?
Note to Sgott: I wasnt aware that readers of my articles were my followers or that I was their flock leader. They will probably be surprised to learn this too. Curt, however, shared similar sentiments: How dare you claim that you are a leader in a Christen [sic] society while contributing to the demise of the conservative party. You are liar and a deceiver, shame on you.
Rev. Right agreed with Sgott and Curt: Dear Mr. Brown, if only you would allow a substantive response to your lying column about only asking, a fellow conservative could share the ways in which your implicit assumptions lack theological foundations. What a shame! (Note the recurring words lying, liar and shame.) Rick also does not to appear to be a member of the Michael Brown Fan Club: Blah, blah, blah. Black Americans voted for Obama because he is black. You call it racial solidarity. If white Americans voted for Mitt Romney because he is white, then thatd be racism. Im guessing that, since you have a radio show and are a contributor to Townhall.com, that youre one of the smart guys.
Of course, there were those who really appreciated the article, calling it a very good column and a brilliant article, telling me the message was spot on and right on time (Gods timing).
Michael thanked me for having the guts to hold accountable the black/Latino evangelical community regarding their vote for the pro-abortion candidate in the election. Please do not abandon this issue. No one else has the courage like you! On the other side, please hold the white evangelicals accountable for their utter failure in addressing social justice [in particular, the education of poor minorities]. They have abdicated their responsibility to the poor, focusing only on their own tribe, and giving a godless government control over an issue that the church should be responsible for.
Likewise, Anastasia, thanked me for being courageous in being a facilitator in this most important issue and topic. As an African American woman, I know firsthand that it is almost impossible to even have this discussion with an African American Christian who voted for President Obama, not once but even twice. . . Please continue this conversation. It is so important and vital to the body of Christ, as well as our nation.
And since one of my goals was to encourage interaction, this email from Dan, a white Christian, was heartening: There are often times we conclude someone to be an idiot based on what we perceive the intent of their actions is only to later find out they had good reason to act as they did. I am very curious about what blind spots we as white evangelicals have regarding the GOP. Clearly the strong allegiance to the Democratic Party by black evangelicals has some threads of logic that we are missing. . . . I have been trying to find a black evangelical friend here locally that I could meet with over the next year or so to find out and discuss these blind spots (on both sides but especially those I am missing).
Let the conversation continue!

Too bad they bought into the race warfare. Socialism knows no color only slavery and purges.
Being black trumps EVERYTHING! I thought we knew this already?
Jer claimed that the reasons for the black Democratic vote were racial idolatry, covetousness, theft, and loving the praises of men more than the praises of God. A lack of FAITH in Gods word.
This Guy NAILED IT!
Christians need to go a lot further than abortion and same-sex marriage when assessing political candidates. The Obama/Democrat agenda is institutionalized envy, jealousy, covetousness, bitterness and theft. Christians look at the lefts agenda of envy/jealousy/covetousness/bitterness and fall for the lie that it is all love and light. They weigh abortion against the “great charitable heart” of Democrats and come out for Democrats. Charity is giving what is yours to others. What belongs to you. Taking it first from others has nothing to do with charity or love and much to do with buying power. The Democrats compound sin with sin, evil with evil. There is no trade off. Do Christians even bother to ask how is it even possible for politicians who are such ardent advocates of abortion and sodomy to be paragons of virtue on other issues?
Todays Christians would rewrite Jesus parable of the golden talents and take away the talents from the man who had five and redistribute them to those with fewer or none. Which makes them antichrist. Politicians in their much less than infinite wisdom have taken it upon themselves to decide who has more money than they think they should have and then take it to give to those to whom it doesnt belong. Putting themselves in the position of playing the Almighty. To the materialist it is all about money. Some peoples lives dont work and the materialist think that its all a matter of money. If they only had enough it would all be ok
The Catholic bishops are the biggest supporters of the destructive, larcenous welfare state from hell. And thus leftist politicians. Come election time they plead with their flock not to vote for abortion. Too little, too late, bishops. Youve already sold folks on the party of death. Youve told them that it is good and right to indulge in envy, jealousy and coveting other peoples wealth. And they will demand whats theirs.
Envy is a sin. Jealousy is a sin. Demanding even more of other peoples money is greed. Looking to the government to meet your needs and solve your problems rather than trusting in God is idolatry, the worst of all. It makes perfect sense that the antiChrist crowd who fervently support abortion and sodomy would also enthusiastically support an agenda of envy, jealousy, covetousness and theft. What is an abomination and inexcusable is that all too many Christians do too. It is the millions of Christians of all varieties who are responsible for Obamas election.
"Their UTTER FAILURE?" That is totally offensive. Even since the Great Society we have PAID for their personnel failures of their own makings. What do you not understand about Personal Responsiblity?
The Republican party in itself stands for "SUCCESS", it's what we preach, we love successful people.
Re: Education? Parents need to be doing their job as well.
Based on the rest of your post, I cannot believe that you actually typed and posted this ridiculous assertion.
If my own mother held Obama's beliefs, the only communication I would have with her would be to tell her how disgusted I was of her. Of course if she held his beliefs I likely would not have been born!
Absolutely true and it looks like it is now time to 'pay the piper'. I weep for this world yet, "Praise the Lord! His Will be done!"
The Bible specifically condemns the practice of trying to predict the future.
The Bible specifically commands us to turn to God and to heed his Law Word.
And for the regenerate there are the promises of God to his faithful elect.
Isaiah 1 goes on:
“25 And I will turn my hand upon thee, and purely purge away thy dross, and take away all thy tin:
26 And I will restore thy judges as at the first, and thy counsellors as at the beginning: afterward thou shalt be called, The city of righteousness, the faithful city.”
It is essential to read a whole chapter at a time and view it in context of the whole of Scripture.
IMHO, the traditional eschatology, as defined in Chapter XXXIII of the Westminster Confession of Faith, is an accurate interpretation of doctrine concerning the Day of the Lord.
