American Atheists' Billboard Calls for Christmas Minus "Myth" of Christ

"We know that a large population of 'Christians' are actually atheists who feel trapped in their family's religion. If you know god is a myth, you do not have to lie and call yourself 'Christian' in order to have a festive holiday season. You can be merry without the myth, and indeed, you should," said David Silverman, President of American Atheists.

The billboard cost $25,000 and was paid for by an (I’m guessing) anonymous member of American Atheists who resides in New Jersey.

It amazes me how atheists, who claim not to believe in God ... seem so threatened by His existence!!

They despise Christianity. They are not going after other symbols, just crosses, nativity scenes, 10 Commandment displays and the like. They are at war with Christianty and won’t stop until every sign and symbol of Christianity is wiped off the American map.

Considering that we have more classical historical references to Jesus Christ than to Julius Ceasar, that is a completely accurate observation.

Why do they want to steal someone else’s holiday? How about starting their own holiday. I suggest Darwin’s Birthday as a possible choice.

Of course, it’s obvious enough why they do it. Christmas is almost universally celebrated, and nobody gives a damn about Darwin’s birthday. But if they don’t like that, how about trying to change it—by pushing their own damned holiday.

They can call for Phillip Morris for all I care, what they want does not matter to me.

“We know that a large population of ‘Christians’ are actually atheists who feel trapped in their family’s religion.

We know that a large population of “atheists” are actually Christians who just feel the pressure to go along to get along.

There. How does that feel?

The truth is that Xmas is a myth but Jesus, especially Jesus the Savior, is all too real.

Proving the truth about Xmas is about the easiest myth to research. After doing so may decades ago, I have found the truth about the birth of Jesus to be far more satisfying than the syncretic holiday observed even by secularists.

Just one web page of the many I could refer anyone to:

Oh but they do believe in G_d.

What's the point of disbelieving in something that is not there, and spend so much time protesting something that does not exist? Talk about STUPID, lol.

Bottom Line is, they do believe, but do not want to OBEY and change their ways.

I’m aware of the pagan origins of Christmas. I too, have done a lot of research on it. Starting this year, I am no longer buying into the secularism. No decorations: tree, mistletoe, lights, etc. My only decoration will be a Nativity Scene.

Of course these same atheists will ignore the Muslim myth of Mohammed. How come they are not digging into the story of that religious cult?

With the cost of the billboard at $25,000, I am even more astonished that someone is willing to throw their money away in these economic times. It proves to me that such a person or group is suffering from a mental illness that $25,000 would be better spent in the cost of therapy. In fact, spend the small cost on therapy and the rest (after getting their mind straight) cheerfully doing good will to mankind.

Maybe they will have enough mental stability to say the good words, Merry Christmas!

Which reminds me: Megan Kelly did an interview with John Stossel today. He does not believe in G_D.

Watch his program tonight as he discusses this. He says he is a Jew, raised by Jewish parents who converted to Christianity.
