The European Union is working on a detailed plan meant to restart Israeli-Palestinian negotiations and establish an independent Palestinian state based on the 1967 borders with east Jerusalem as its capital, Yedioth Ahronoth quoted Israeli diplomatic sources as saying.

The plan will set a clear timetable for a discussion on all core issues over the course of 2013. It will likely be presented in March after a new Israeli government is formed.

Will this be "it"? We'll have to keep watching...

Since Jerusalem has always been the capital of Israel,
the EU should give Belgium and Brussels to the PA.

Splendid idea Diogenesis!

The Arab squatters on Jewish land who call themselves "Palestinians" have as much right to Belgium and Brussels as they do to Jerusalem.

Have you considered the possibility that Anti Christ won't be European? Most people look at that verse in Daniel 9 saying And the people of the prince who is to come shall destroy the city and the sanctuary and figure the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and the Temple, so it will be a prince of "Roman blood". Funny thing is, the Temple was destroyed by the Legion Fretensis, from Assyria, and most of the conscripted soldiers were just that, Assyrians. Isaiah also referred to him as the Assyrian. These are two of the reasons why I believe AC will come from old Assyria (region in and around modern day Syria).

That said, could the EU be behind a peace treaty between a leader from Assyria and Israel? I don't see any reason why it could not be so!

Former Fetus, the Antichrist could come from ANY of the nations that were part of the Roman Empire at the time that Titus and the 10th Legion destroyed Jerusalem in 70AD. The revived Roman Empire will consist of the modern-day nations which exist in the same geographical area as the Old Roman Empire. We can believe that the Antichrist could come from Syria and remain faithful to the Scripture on this because Syria was annexed to the Roman Empire in 64 AD and could have been part of the Legion that destroyed Jerusalem.

The problem that I have with the idea that the Antichrist will be Islamic is that Islam will be so decimated after the Psalm 83 and Ezekiel 38/39 wars that it's hard to believe that anyone would worship a Muslim dictator.

But anything is possible, and prophecy is usually not very clear until it is about to be fulfilled or has been fulfilled already.

Make that 64 BC. Syria was annexed to the Roman Empire in 64 BC, not 64 AD.

I agree, and this is where the Awaited One, the Hidden Iman, comes to play! Muslims, especially Shi'a Muslims have been waiting for centuries for their "messiah" and when he (Anti Christ, that is) comes, they will follow him without question. Every time I hear the Iranian president pray for the return of the Mahdi I smile, the more he keeps his people excited about the Mahdi, the more sense prophecy makes!!!

I’ve always wondered if the Anti Christ has to actually physically reside in the region of the Old Roman Empire. Could he have his ancestry in that Empire? For instance, if you look at the ancestry of the O his father is actually of Arab decent from that region. Not hat I think O is but....

Good point... unless the physical location is a “sign” to identify him. From my previous post you can tell that I believe AC will be a Muslim from Syria or the region surrounding it; the Mahdi went into hiding in Qom (Iran). So, I cannot be certain, but would expect him to come from that region. And, according to Shi’a belief he has “resided” there for the last, what?, 9 or 10 centuries?

I think O is the false prophet and will lead to the Anti Christ. That makes more sense to me. They did after all ask him to become the head of the Muslim Faith.
