The adult Bill Gates has apparently fallen away from the faith of his preadolesence. In an intreview with Charlie Rose, Microsoft’s co-founder declared, “The specific elements of Christianity are not something I’m a huge believer in.”
That acceptance is God’s to determine.
Unless you know with certainty the day and hour of your death, it is wise to live as if you could be facing the Lord at any time. I think that was the point that CHRISTIAN DIARIST was trying to make; at the time Lance made that statement his soul was heading for hell. Can he repent and get God's forgiveness? Of course he can. Our God is the God of second, and third, and fourth... chances. But Lance needs to turn to the Lord and accept Him as the Lord of his life. Until he does so, and the interview suggests that he hasn't done it yet, he is heading to hell indeed. Rather than argue, we should pray for him.
That's wonderful. Praise God.
Good news for Armstrong! He wrote those unfortunate words in 2000, there is still time for him to have a change of mind and seek the forgiveness he needs from the only one who can give it. If, in the end, he still can only point to his good works to get him into heaven, well, they will burn - and so will he.
I mean, if God could reach out to a most wretched sinner such as I am, save me, cleanse me, and use me for His kingdom, then he could certainly do so with Mr. Armstrong.
I sincerely hope that Mr. Armstrong, as well as all others who have not yet partaken in the Lord's delightful love and mercy, will be brought to his senses before it is too late.
It's called senility.
Well said, friend. God gives us all, everyone, free will. His desire is that no one should perish but that all should come to repentance. Those who do not accept the salvation that only Christ offers, who unrepentantly die in their sins, face eternal punishment.
He’s old enough to be senile? How’d you determine that?
Oh good Lord. The man's not dead yet, so there's still a chance for him. Is there any disputing that?
Well said. Salvation and damnation are God’s to dispense, not ours. Christian diarist seems to be lacking in at least one key Christian attribute—mercy.
I was thinking he lacks reading comprehension.
Do you not think that at least in Salvation and damnation are ours to choose as a consequence of free will?
Peace be with you
Do you not think that at least in part Salvation and damnation are ours to choose as a consequence of free will?
Peace be with you
I quit paying any attention to celiberties many years ago, and have not even heard of Armstrong,
If these people goe to hell they certainly will have plenty of company, they are popular because they have the same view as their fans either for the benefit of the popularity or in earnest.
I doubt if being a false idol is any worse than worshipping a false idol.
Jesus said, many shall be called but few will be chosen, so in regards to hell who am i worried about? me.
This is the typical condition of the human heart. People really don't care until God meets them on the Damascus Road. But that being said, what is troubling is such an overt statement. It indicates a harden heart from which it is impossible to restore one to repentance. God will give him the desires of his heart.
