One of the more memorable sketches to air on NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” featured actor Alec Baldwin and comedian Adam Sandler as members of a Boy Scout troop.
Baldwin played a gay scoutmaster, “Mr. Armstrong.” Sandler reprised his role as “Canteen Boy,” a scout clearly suffering arrested development.
In the sketch, Mr. Armstrong makes a sexual advance on Canteen Boy, brushing his unshaven face against the lad. So uncomfortable is Sandler’s character, who is not so dimwitted that he doesn’t know a pedophile when he sees one, that he flees into the woods.
The sketch was uproariously funny.
But what is not funny is the prospect that the Boy Scouts of America will today reverse its longstanding policy barring openly gay adults and boys from bringing their homosexuality to scouting.
It is almost certain that if BSA allows gay scoutmasters – like Mr. Armstrong – it is only a matter of time before one of them succumbs to the lust of the lies and the lust of the flesh and molests an innocent young scout.
I’m not hating on homosexuals. I’m not saying they are all child-molesters-in-waiting.
I’m not trying to stir up controversy (as SNL did with its provocative Canteen Boy sketch, which the gay community condemned as homophobic, and for which all-too-politically-correct Alec Baldwin continues to apologize to this day).
I’m just looking at the hard evidence.
Indeed, just this past October, the Boy Scouts of America released 20 years worth of documents revealing a pattern of molestation by not a couple dozen, not a couple hundred, but thousands of grown up men who saw scout troops as a target rich environment to exercise their sexual depravity.
The Los Angeles Times painstakingly examined nearly 1,900 confidential files created between 1970 and 1991 (only God knows how many there have been since then).
The common thread, according to the Times, is that molesters engaged in what psychologists call “grooming behavior,” a gradual seduction in which under-age Boy Scouts were lavished with gifts, favors and attention.
In hundreds of cases, Scout leaders allowed the boys to drive cars, drink alcohol or look at pornography. They gradually tested physical boundaries during skinny dipping, group showers, sleepovers and one-on-one activities.
Those Mau-Mauing the Boy Scouts to open up their ranks to homosexuals would have us believe that doing so will not lead to more unholy man-boy sexual abuse.
But even dimwitted Canteen Boy would know better than that.
So the cowards in charge at the BSA have decided to kill the organization to celebrate its 100th birthday. Absolutely shameful. All sane parents will take their boys out of the BSA if homosexuals are allowed free access to their sons.
This is so sad. When I was a scout, our scout master was a truly honorable and wonderful man who freely gave up his free time to lead us. There was never a whiff of scandal or suspicion during his entire reign of at least 20 years.
Now comes these demented detestable morally debased fag groups and they wish to turn an organization into a preying ground for sick degenerates. I am beyond flabbergasted. When some say take my country back I like to think we could do exactly what NY did after Rev 1, put all the opposition on boats and make them leave the country. Call it a lack of compromise but frankly I see no need to compromise with the devil or his deciples.
so if they permit gay troopleaders, how long till 50% or more of the boyscouts drop out? I can’t see the group continuing.

Wonder if there will be an alternative BSA. One that means morally strait and keeps the oath? (Sort of like ARRP and AMAC). I was active as a leader in scouts years ago...it is a wonderful educational experience for boys. Also sets young minds into goal-oriented tasking. I would NEVER send one of my boys to this organization, but something similar could/should be developed as an alternative.
yep, I think it’s time for the BSA and GSA to go away. At least shut down that avenue of opportunity for pedophiles and perverts. GSA numbers have declined steadily for over a decade. BSA will do the same. It will end up a “happy” place to go for those of other than hetero-orientation.
Sadly, let them declare victory and let’s press on. Too much other stuff to keep focused on, like teaching our children what’s in the constitution and how to use items mentioned in the 2nd amendment...

sadly, I think you are correct. No one with any sense would send their kids off to a potential hostile sexual environment.
Another poster said time to raise the white flag and let this issue go, we lost. I agree on that. Along with ma and apple pie, another vestage of what was great for the US has passed away. Fold up the tents, lower the flag and play taps for the last time for the BSA. Please don’t pollute the memory by kowtowing to these creeps...desolve the organization rather than yield.
Actually, I think the Scouts idea could be vastly improved upon. Think about what direction this world is heading, and how young men & women should be trained to overcome it.
I think an analogy might be what happened to Lutherans, Methodists and so on. There are liberal branches but also those that are still conservative Christians. Something like that could happen with the boy scouts. It’s a shame that ‘boy scouts’ won’t mean the same thing everywhere, but that is what happens when the boy scout central authority gives up saying yay or nay as concerns homosexualism and lets the individial chapters decide.

Well you should be and enough of them are so as not to make much of a difference. It doesn’t take but a handful...look at Catholic priests...not ALL are pedophiles or “groomers”. The argument doesn’t wash.

I think that they began allowing women to serve as leaders some time ago.
Nothing on Saturday Night live is funny. It is a vile, vulgar promotion of immorality in the guise of humor. I stopped watching it a long time ago.

Why would sex ever, EVER, come up at the Boy Scouts?? Because that is what gays always do!

Women have been in leadership positions in the BSA for quite some time. Of course, there was the stereotypical Den Mother for the Cub Scouts back in the day but my son’s troop had a female assistant scoutmaster when he joined in 1990. She was the single mom of one of the boys in the troop and a registered nurse, sometimes a good thing to have around for challenging outdoor activities. There probably have also been female Scoutmasters in some locations but I never observed one.
