It didn’t take long for news of Pope Benedict XVI’s planned resignation to hit the Internet before haters went to Twitter to flood his account with death threats and harassing messages.

They always take parting shots at everything/one. Standard behavior. The Pope or the man who was/is Pope is supposed to be the one guy on earth closest to God. So it’s the closest they can get to actually slapping God in the face.

Odd how those who want him dead because he is quitting would also have done the same had he announced he was sick and refused to resign.

I find it strange they even know he has a twitter account - I still find it hard to believe the Pope has one. Something doesn’t click here.
Let me say I am not a Catholic, would never be a Catholic and disagree with lots of Catholic dogma and doctrine.
But to issue death threats against the Pope is simply ignorant to a degree that is almost comical if were not that I believe that some of the threats might be serious.
We do not hold the children responsible for the sin’s of their fathers. The RC may have a lot to apologize for in its past. There may be things it needs to undo or make restitution for today. Threatening to kill Benedict accomplishes none of those things.
There are times I do agree a bit with leftist on some Internet restrictions. In may ways it would be good if posters on message boards had to have a verifiable name and address.
He should have known when you surrender to evil, they go after you more, they don’t back down.
Sure. They have to blame their failures on something. They (many)know in their hearts that the Right is not the source of their problems. But refuse to admit it. They live the results of leftism daily. But they want the ‘good parts’ (as they see it) like abortion, homoeverything and the like, so they have to go with all the parts like high taxes and such, that hurt them financially and otherwise. Things that give them less resource to party.
So there sits the Big G. He isn’t known for big speeches or personal smackdowns in the modern era. And besides, he been the source of many problems for the left. Or the fact that people believe in him is a problem for the left at least. That cuts into the party fund too.
So, faced with the leftist need to place blame everywhere but the problem, the left then blamed the ‘imaginary sky daddy’ as an attempt to mock God, believers and the Right. That way they can avoid accepting the source of their problem, ‘the Left’ and themselves, and score street cred with other leftists.
God isn’t going to appear in their xBox and do anything to stop them so he’s an easy target.
And when they die and meet him, well, it wasn’t their fault they did all that. They were raised to believe he wasn’t real and since the Right saus he is a forgiving God, they have nothing to worry about.
So trashing his chief representative on Earth is nothing but ‘good’ for them. Who cares? The Right? So? They WANT our scorn. It persecutes them and feeds the excuse that A truly merciful God would forgive them because of that.

Not really just you. I don't know anyone who wishes another dead.
The reason I finally signed up here was because the cruel talk from some here in favor of denying Terri Schiavo water and siding with her evil husband. Six years of lurking came to a quick end. So you can't say it's all the left. Evil walks in the GOP halls as well.
Strange how the previous pope was in the news then, also, showing his support of her. He died after she did while being on a 'by law' forced 'fast'.
