I’m not Catholic, but I have to say this is why the Church must completely reject such groups. If they don’t believe in the teachings of a certain faith, why are they in it? Why try to change it, other than for suspect purposes? It would be like me, being a Baptist, joining a Mormon Temple, and then trying to change everything they teach.
Oh, it's worse than that. The old Baltimore Catechism called it a sin that cried out to heaven for vengeance.
Head for the hills. Don't look back.
“Then I guess all those priests who molested kids must have been straight”
Nice try, but that’s not what I meant.
Try a little critical thinking.
The country had voted for FDR 4 times starting in 1932. That was the beginning of the decline. FDR was even more radical than Obama - much more along the lines of Hugo Chavez. Read FDR's second bill of rights to get an idea of what he really was. Thankfully FDR died and we were spared the kind of socialism he really believed in. America did well for awhile post WW2 because the rest of the industrialized world was destroyed. Once we had to actually compete it became obvious the policies this country had put in place were a disaster - along with the bloated, corrupt labor unions that were saddling much of industry with an extra layer of bureaucracy.
translation: people living in sin would rather change the church than themselves.
It ain't complicated
Catholic Homosexuals?
If the Catholic Church teaches the word of God then these folks are open sinners basically wanting their sin to be authorized by the new Pope.
If the next Pope DOES those things he will be the “Last Pope”.
“Do they really believe the church will bless anal matrimony?”
Butt-hole-y matrimony? too far?
“gay Catholic? No such reality.”
There are plenty of pro-abortion, liberal Catholics. No excommunication for Nancy Pelosi... that’s a sad reality.
Yes, the “all about me” gays who think the whole world revolves around them and their narcissistic behaviors.
Thre are many people who are "attracted" to more calories a day than they can healthily ingest, but that is not called gluttony, it's called "temptation."
And there are men who are "attracted" to men, and women who are "attracted" to women, but that is not called sodomy: it's called "temptation".
"Temptation" becomes sin only when it is deliberately entertained or indulged; not when it is resisted.
People attracted to the same sex can indeed be Christians and can indeed lead lives of heroic virtue and be saints. This is by the grace of God, in which they struggle to resist sins of thought, word, and deed.
As must we all, every day of our lives. Because the attractions are all around us. It's called "temptation".
The last Trial of The Church in the form of a religious deception offering men an apparent solution to their problems at the price of apostasy from the truth.
We wait in joyful hope for the second coming of Our Lord and Savior to judge the living and the dead.
“Homosexual Catholic groups hope after Pope Benedict XVI steps down, a new progressive Pope will champion LGBT issues, female ordination, and contraception at a Third Vatican Council.”
Not a chance in hell which is where they are all going.
A thoughtful gay writer, Richard Rodriguez, notes that "Contracepting couples are heterosexual gays."
In those days, we were still an united, Christian country. Just check out the movies once the Hayes Commission came into being. (And I speak as a pre-code fan!) Today, we are fractured and contemptous of religion. Very different from FDR - and I basically agree with you.
Unfortunately, Francis Cardinal Arinze is now 80 years old. Pope Benedict XVI was already 78 when elected and he has run out of steam at age 86. How many of us work until we’re 86?
Are the disgusting Rainbow Sash buttpeople still out there? And why do they assume that Third World cardinals are likely to be sexual liberation radicals?
I would say: “If the next Pope DOES those things, THE POPE BEFORE HIM would have been the “Last Pope”.
