Pope Benedict XVI says goodbye — to his red shoes

Retiring Pope Benedict XVI gets to keep a couple titles — “Your Holiness Benedict XVI” and “emeritus pope” — and his white cassock. But he’s turning in his signature red shoes and going brown.

Vatican spokesman Rev. Federico Lombardi said the pope decided on his future wear — which has been widely discussed since he announced his retirement — in consultation with Vatican officials, according to The Associated Press.

Replacing the red shoes will be the hand-crafted brown loafers given him during a 2012 visit to Mexico, the AP states.

This is getting into the Third Prophecy of Fatima, where the “Bishop who was dressed in white like the Pope but was not” suffers enormously and is then killed at the foot of the Cross...after walking through the bodies of the dead faithful who suffered in the persecution.

Don't even bother. I don't. You cannot have a discussion about scripture to people who elevate tradition above scripture...who ignore their own history...change the rules in mid stream (for example: No salvation outside the church was originally meant to be something TOTALLY different than the revisionism that goes on now...and any attempt to say Boniface VIII didn't mean YOU ARE GOING TO HELL if you aren't Catholic is embarrassing. It would be easier to say he was wrong than to say he actually meant something else...when history proves what he meant)...who elect popes as teens and who sell the seat of Peter (which hmmm...nevermind) and who elevate people to the seat who live immoral lives, having children out of wedlock.

Pius X had a similar vision, but the details are in the Third Secret, which was released only partially. Some people thought that JPII, with the assassination attempt, was the “Bishop in white” in question. But he survived and reigned for 20 years after the attempt, so I think it’s much more likely that it referred to BXVI, especially after reading this.

The early years of Jesus served no purpose to be recorded.
And when He was born to obscure parents in a barn, and hid in Egypt?

Obscure parents were deemed the best way for him to be raised and Egypt was a safe haven as were the catacombs. Seeking safety is not the same as withholding "revelations" from God. We are not to hide the light under a basket.
