The New Pope Believes He Is The Authority On How Children Should Be Raised And Educated

The white smoke had come and gone and a new pope is among us. The Vatican has chosen Jorge Mario Bergoglio of Buenos Aires, Argentina. And although he’s not in favor of ”Kills the Gays” legislation like a contender (points!), he is predictably in line with the whole children need a mother and a father line of thought. Not a big shocker by any means.

The Guardian describes the archbishop turned pope as “a Jesuit intellectual” who has a very deep compassion for the poor (but not the gays!). Upon being made cardinal in 2001, Bergoglio reportedly told “hundreds of Argentinians” to not throw away money on a plane ticket to Rome to celebrate with him. He encouraged his supporters to give that plane ticket cash to the poor. The man has a heart….but not for the gays or their children:

He was a fierce opponent of Argentina’s decision to legalise gay marriage in 2010, arguing children need to have the right to be raised and educated by a father and a mother.

So nothing to really new to see here, folks, but thanks for coming out. Much like Pope Benedict XVI, I fully expect to see our new pope getting up every Christmas to rail against the evils of same-sex marriage and how it’s destroying our children one gay marriage license at a time. As opposed to, you know, not having access to health insurance via their parents’ relationship status.

This is a typical reaction. Its all about the gays and trumped up issues like insurance. All one typically has to do in order to have a child on their health insurance is to have legal guardianship and that isn't expensive. It cost me $150 dollars when I obtained full custody for my niece. Regardless it looks like I'll like this new Pope.

And Bloomberg, and Piers Morgan, and almost anyone you can name on the left. But Christians do not, in their opinion. Unless they’re a protected minority, preferably Christian In Name Only.

That was exactly what ran through my mind when I read the headline - if he is generating this sort of wailing from the usual suspects, I suspect the Catholics managed to get themselves a decent Pope.

What is this Koa Beck guy and its compete fixation with the disease of homosexuality?

I mean like this guy Koa and Homosexuality should like get a room. After all the promotion of this group as legitimate and healthy despite being defined as sinful in the bible and being biologically self-destructive, is Koa Beck’s entire world agenda.

But I guess he was being nice to this pope who didn’t even call him out on his insane ideological insistence.

PS not having health insurance does not prohibit someone from getting healthcare services. I’ve gotten lots of healthcare services without having health insurance and I ant even close to rich.

I’m not Catholic either but I appreciate anyone who affirms the faith in a leadership role.

I’m not sure about that, I heard on the Radio that this new pope is a crusader on “social justice”, as defined by some university theologians.

The fact that hes not an abomination lover doesn’t say anything beyond the fact that he has some respect for that part of scripture.

Weird, that anyone should think the Catholic church would be expected to find a pro gay pope. How can this person be amazed? How deluded must they be?

Keep in mind that the "authority" he claims, is the authority to say what God says via Natural Law: that children have a natural right to the love and care of their father and mother, and parents have, in the light of that right, a natural authority and obligation to direct the education of their own children.

That's Catholic doctrine.

And Natural Law.

And this pope is -- surprise! and against all Enemedia speculations--- a Catholic.

I agree but of course this is the same kind of homocentricism that is common. Everything is about affirming the gay which if it weren’t for the prevalence of the gay thought police would be laughable. Its as if we have new gay litmus test for everything. Its stupid but becoming more and more dangerous to our personal liberties.

That's funny, I heard that he WAS NOT such a crusader.

Congratulation to all Catholics. It sounds like you have a man who walks the walk and not afraid to be politically incorrect. You know you have a winner when the left attacks them.

I am no prophet, but this man is already looking like God has sent him to save us from what happened to Sodom.

He could be our last chance before the destruction.

We will have to wait and see if he lives up to his billing as an anti-sodom Pope.

I’m sure he plenty of compassion for gys. He probably doesn’t believe in same sex marriage, and he surely believes that gay sex, or any other sex outside of marriage, is sinful.
