This is a long but interesting article about what Archbishop O’Malley faced after the rotten core of Bernard Law

IF Pope Francis exiles Law into a monestery then I will know he is on the right track.

I told you that I would praise the previous Pope if it looked like he “fell on the sword” to bring in someone who was strong enough to take on factions in the Church.

Still waiting to see on that one.

It is no easy task. I hope Pope Francis has a strong body to last awhile.

There is a line missing from this story. (And I in no way am defending Cardinal Law’s wrongdoings.)

But we don’t know if Cardinal Law confessed his sins and was forgiven.

This will be interesting to follow.

Not knowing a whole lot about monastic life, and having noted that Pope Francis has more the habits of a hermit than a monk, Cardinal Law might well have never experienced total isolation, nor expect it.

Maybe he's given such a dreadful choice he'll abandon church office and throw himself on the mercy of enablers he knows.

ON FRANCIS POSTED BY ANN BARNHARDT - MARCH 14,

I was waiting for this and she did not disappoint. I'm no judge of its accuracy.

LOL. Several dioceses bankrupt, innocent priests (as well as guilty ones) in prison, other innocent priests who can't go out in public without being called filthy names, Catholic parents who can't even drive kids on a field trip without being background-checked, and you think -- "you will start to pay a price" ????????

This long ago stopped being about punishing the guilty. I'm totally in favor of punishing the guilty. This is about destroying the innocent right along with, and sometimes in preference to, the guilty. It's a lynch mob mentality, and it's aided and abetted by an MSM who would never in a million years dream of encouraging people to assume that all public school teachers are perverts, but have no problem implying that a few evil priests are typical of all of them.

I don’t see that as a conflict. I don’t have a problem with him meeting with Law. Depends what it was about, and what he told Law.

It would be for the best of everybody, including Cardinal Law, if he were sent to a monastery, to live out his life in quiet contemplation.

Please send Milwaukee’s disgraced former Archbishop Weakland to live with him.

he’s an old guy ~ tens of millions of the elderly around the world live in poverty on the streets ~ let Law join them.

If you have a connection you should try to listen to WBZ tonight. There is a program on about Cardinal Law and the sex abuse scandal. These are not anti-Catholic folks. They’re very informed about the history, the problem and the cover-up. They feel it’s pretty clear, the former Cardinal Law isn’t going to come back and face questions.

Law was at Sta. Maria Maggiore in Rome (Italy) not in the Vatican City. The U.S. has an extradition treaty with Italy. He could have been picked up by the Italian authorities at any time, if there were charges, an arrest warrant, an indictment, anything.

The fact is that Law is not a fugitive because there are not, and have not been, any criminal charges. And this is because the Mass. AG and the district attorneys in 5 counties did not turn up any perjury, obstruction of justice, criminal conspiracy, civil liability or anything of the sort.

Sorry.

If you've got any additional information on him that could lead to an indictment, go right on ahead. Throw the book at him.

Oh Weakland, yeah. He treated good priests and good Catholic laypeople horribly. Friends of mine --- the stories I could tell. He was the enabler and patron of pro-abortion, pro-perversion "theologians". And then there was the grand theft/embezzlement of $450,000 from the Archdiocese to buy off an ex-lover to prevent him from suing him. Never prosecuted.

I'd never leave the Catholic Church, but if I had lived in that Archdiocese I fear I would have been tempted to aggravated assault.

May God have mercy.
