Does anyone have any pictures of Joe Biden or Nancy Pelosi receiving communion?
Dangus

Baby-killing advocates Joe Biden and Nancy Pelosi have told the press that they received communion at the papal mass. And I've seen loads of pictures of both at the papal mass. Seeing how the big news story their presence spurs is whether they'd receive communion, is there any evidence that they did? It's not like both have not directly lied about their relationships with the Catholic faith.

Please understand that I am not making an assertion that they did NOT. I am only trying to find confirmation that they DID.

No, Doogle. That is an indoor mass taken during Pope Benedict XVI’s tenure.

That report appears to be based solely on VP Biden’s claim. I’m trying to confirm that claim.

Actually I am not a Catholic. I went to Catholic grade and high School but today I belong to an Evangelical Free Church. So your not Catholic bashing me. Maybe xCatholic bashing.

I feel the same frustration you do. It is part of the reason I left the church. As to the question of not letting biden and pelosi take communion; that would have set up precedent what will happen to people who not only sin by making evil laws, but lead others into sin. My guess is that the new pope wanted to start in peace. Like all parents do, you lay down the rules and then enforce them. Hopefully he will make it clear who can and cannot take communion and then enforce it. That is my prayer.

I was angry at the church a long time because of many things. Today I realize no church has it all right. I don't believe in many of the Catholic Churches beliefs, but they believe in the Trinity and other things I do believe in. I have friends who today have bibles and go to Catholic bible study. The church is changing and I know my friends are right with God according to scripture. The Christian and Catholic Churches are under attack and we better stick together. It will strengthen us to be as one even with our differences. My parents church is Assembly of God and I don't share many of their beliefs, but I know they are right with God by their testimony and actions.

So, give any Satanist who asks for one a blessed Host and let them call down judgment on themselves. After all, if the Priest isn't responsible for protecting the Sacrament itself from one type of person intent on mocking and abusing the Sacrament why should he protect the Hosts from Satanists intent on doing the exact same thing?

I'm sure there are people who believe that with a blessed Host in addition to a crossroads at midnight they could learn to play a premier Blues guitar. So, accomodate them as well. Let anyone who asks have a blessed Host and give it a shot.

Lorzy, the Blues sho needs all the help it can get as high yella Bluegrass passes itself off as Blues these days.

"The Christian and Catholic Churches are under attack and we better stick together."

Yep. We should all be one. God did not send Jesus to teach for 3 years and then take off and leave us alone to work things out.

I realize your 3 is meant to be 33 and you're right! He never left us. :)

I was at Mass in Tokyo when a woman tried to walk off with the Body of Christ. The priest caught up with her and reclaimed it.

You and I noticed the same thing. Unfortunately, every single Catholic commentator and blogger I've read is taking it on face value that it did happen. Case in point, Matthew Archbold reports:

As expected, pro-abortion politicians from the U.S. received communion during the Pope's inaugural mass yesterday.

Of course, this is not a uniquely American problem. Countries from all over the world sent delegations to the inaugural mass and probably more than a few contained pro-abortion pols. Now I don't know if any announcement was made at the hugely attended mass about those, in general terms, that are not prepared to receive communion should abstain. They do this at Christmas and weddings now, thankfully, so I hope they did it there.

At the very least, the Pope avoided the dreaded photo-op of giving communion to one of these pro-abortion pols by not distributing communion himself.

“The Church can only teach.”

Disagree, sorry. The Church can and should take measures as set forth in Canon Law, the GIRM, the CCC, and elsewhere, to ensure orthodoxy.

Probably meant to be 3. From the call of the first disciples to his crucifixion, Jesus taught publicly only for a fairly short time. Based on the contentious* presumption that the Gospel of John is presented in chronological order, Jesus is believed by many to have preached over a period of somewhat longer, but not likely much longer, than 2 years.

(* Many scripture scholars believe the Gospel of John was organized thematically, rather than chronologically, although the two possibilities are not inherently mutually exclusive.)

Yes, I was corrected, you are right! However, I consider every day of His life on earth as instructional (all the way up to today through the Eucharist). He taught us love in the manger, and it never stopped...

the Priest isn't responsible for protecting the Sacrament itself

Priests aren't responsible for knowing if a person--any person--presenting themselves for the Body is in a state of grace. No priest can make that assumption. It is up to each of us individually to reconcile ourselves with God, and if we haven't done that, it is OUR responsibility not to take part in the blessed sacrament of Communion.

Having said that: I pray for the day when our holy church strengthens herself through excommunication. It's not the priests being irresponsible when it comes to dealing with prideful blasphemers.

As well he should have. In some areas the ushers are carefully watching for people who try to palm the Host and take it with them because there are so many Satanists trying to get Hosts.

That's what people overlook in Canon 915 and don't bother with reading those others that apply.

What part of, ". . . are not to be admitted to holy communion" is all that hard to understand?

That applies to those who have been excommunicated or who, ". . . obstinately persist in manifest grave sin," not only those who someone wants to split hairs over whether or not they're excommunicated. If the Vice President of the US who openly votes for and approves of abortion in direct contradiction to Chruch teaching isn't guilty of manifest grave sin, just who would be?

And Pelosi? She's very publicly and on multiple occasions denied what the Church teaches with regard abortion, contraception, queers marrying one another, for starters, and even stated as fact that the Church teaches the exact opposite of what it does teach on a very public national News interview program. How is that not both obstinate and manifest?

The issue is the Sacrament itself not being openly mocked, not just which clowns and liars are most openly guilty of mocking the Church, Canon Law, the Pope, the presiding Priest, and all of those who obey Church teaching and Canon Law who are present when the clown makes a mockery of the Sacrament.

So Canon 915 is all smoke and mirrors because, “. . . are not to be admitted to holy communion” requires something that is impossible. Gotcha.

The two of them should be ashamed of themselves.
They know what they did and they know it was wrong , and then bragging about it to the media adds to their sin.

I wouldn’t want to be standing next to them come Judgement day, it’s going to get real hot.

Communion is an anonymous act, between the penitent and God. The priest, as intermediary, treats each individual with complete anonymity. It is not his role to turn anyone away from the communion table. It is the responsibility of the penitent to accept the body of Christ with a clear conscience.
The rationale of lapsed political Christians who claim, falsely, that their political responsibilities are separate and distinct from their religious obligations are in mortal danger of damnation.
